We are extremely proud to announce the release of two new jewels in the treasure trove of thrash which is FOAD Records catalog!
AFTERMATH “When Will You Die?” is the final vinyl reissue for influential ’80s Chicago thrash band, broken down into two equally seminal volumes spanning the 86/87 and 89/90 demo production of this Chicago powerhouse of blistering fast metal.
The first volume “86/87” includes 2 of the most successful American Thrash-core demos of the ’80s for the first time on vinyl, remastered from the best master sources for an incredible audio quality. If you’re looking for mind blowing FAST Thrash a la Wehrmacht/Soothsayer with a touch of Hardcore reminescent of Attitude Adjustment and Accüsed, you found a total winner here. This record includes the “Sentenced to death” demo 1986, “Killing the future” demo 1987 and other songs from their absolute first show, recorded in 1986. 14 songs in total which will leave you completely breathless. Tracks like “War For Freedom” & “When Will You Die” were both featured on the British ‘Metal Forces’ magazine compilation LP ‘Demolition: Scream Your Brains Out’ in 1988 . This compilation album also featured tracks from Leviathan ( featuring Chris Barnes of Cannibal Corpse/Six Feet Under on vocals), Hobbs’ Angel Of Death, Anacrusis & Atrophy. The appearance on the Metal Forces’ compilation further expanded the band’s international appeal. To us at FOAD Records‘ headquarters “Killing the Future” is one of the top 10 favourite cassettes among the entire Thrashcore discography of the ’80s, therefore we strongly recommend you to buy this LP! The inner sleeve comes with original photos, flyers, articles taken from 80s fanzines and lyrics. Be fast and get yourself the ULTRALIMITED EDITION (only 100 copies !) in gorgeous splatter white/red vinyl.
If this alone wasn’t enough, get yourself into Chapter# 2 of AFTERMATH‘s demo re-issues, the “89/90” volume. This LP includes AFTERMATH‘s “Words that echo Fear” Demo 1989, Roadrace Demo 1990 and a handful of live tracks from 1988. This album shows the band’s natural development from blistering, restless Thrashcore speed to a more solid, controlled assault of pure THRASH with a progressive vibe… think of late ’80s Voivod or Coroner crossed with AFTERMATH‘s peculiar way of Thrash, so greatly portrayed on the previous “Killing the future” Demo. Both demos landed them great press coverage in all of the leading metal magazines around the world at the time, including: Kerrang, Metal Hammer, RIP, RAW and Metal Forces. The “Words that Echo Fear” demo was also picked by music journalist Don Kaye as on of the Ten Best Demos of the Year 1989. In 1990, based on the huge international success of the Words that Echo Fear demo, the metal label RoadRacer Records (a subsidiary of Roadrunner Records) approached the band for a demo deal, which resulted in the publication of a four track demo featuring the songs ‘Eyes of Tomorrow’, ‘Afraid Of Time’, ‘The Act Of Unspoken Wisdom’ and ‘Reflecting Pictures”, which also appear entirely remastered for best possible sound quality on this LP . Just like many other bands of the ’80s US metal scene, AFTERMATH‘s unique way to thrash is a treasure that hasn’t still been largely discovered, deserving the proper attention on a quality vinyl reissue like this. Get carried away by the detailed inner sleeve with photos, flyers, articles on 80s fanzines and lyrics. Be fast and get yourself the ULTRALIMITED EDITION (only 100 copies !) in gorgeous splatter splatter white/blue vinyl.
A CD version of this material, also including other demos and rarities, is now available via our partners AreaDeath Prod, from the Popular Republic of China.
And if you really want to be thrashing fast, try to get one of the extremely limited to only 66 DIE HARD edition, including both vinyl LP reissues, a remake of classic AFTERMATH “Killing The Future” t-shirt, and a great black with white print on both sides thrash bag!! Once this bundle is gone, it will be gone forever! So act fast!
Hey there, I am really into a few of the records you’ve put out and where I suspect you’ll say no to me asking, I won’t know unless I try. I see you got your records to my man Jeff at Six Weeks Records and you’re putting out some of my favorite music ever, thrash/speed metal! I was curious if you’d be down to trade any records at all? I mainly put out Hardcore/Punk (ranging from power violence, thrash, fastcore, old school USHC, lo fi punk) but its not nice music at all and done the right way. My discography is on my website and there’s quite a bit of good stuff. My releases have gotten good reviews and I would say that Europeans love what I put out (1/2 of my fanbase is from all over there) so I guess if you’re interested please let me know. If not, maybe I can try and get some records anyways.
Thanks for your time, hope for a reply!
