This is it, another mindblowing F.O.A.D. month is in the books and we’re happy to have started 2025 in the best possible way.  As was foretold, it was an all hardcore punk clash, with two Italian bands, one Chilean and one Swedish mangel cult – spanning the 80s, the 2000s to the present day. We said these four new titles would be ready by Jan. 20, and here we are right on schedule: ASOCIAL “Kolsvart framtid” gatefold LP, ROUGH “Rude 1982-1983” gatefold LP, ARTURO “Conversazioni” LP and S.A.P.U “Curao, volao y con bajón” LP are out now on F.O.A.D. Records!

All preorders have been shipped, except for the packages containing the ROUGH T-shirt+LP bundle, which has been delayed a bit by the T-shirt printer but should arrive today, so the remaining orders will also be fulfilled asap. Please note, there are very few copies of the diehard versions left, especially of ASOCIAL and ROUGH, so as always our advice is to act fast. Next month we will be covering hardcore territories again, and in particular a great specialty of our label… JAPAN! Yes, there will be no less than 4 Japanese hardcore ragers of the kind you can only expect from F.O.A.D., we’ll reveal them in short with trailers… stay tuned!

Welcome to a new F.O.A.D. year that promises to be truly ear-blowing and full of sick surprises! We ended 2024 with 45 releases, not our record, there was a slight decrease from 2023, mostly because this year was undoubtedly the most challenging in the label’s history. We had to deal with a huge move that resulted in our two previous logistics merging into one warehouse. This and a number of other factors caused a series of delays and unforeseen events that slowed us down for a few months. Now we are fully settled in the new location, with a strong and more substantial team, and the prospects for the times ahead are totally positive, you’ve already seen it with the IMPETIGO boxset, which was the most colossal production in the label’s history. And our release schedule for 2025 is almost complete and it’s monstrous.. so let’s stop the pleasantries and start introducing you to what we have in the pot for this January!  It’s been a while since we’ve offered you an all hardcore month, but as you know our catalog is always unpredictable switching from different underground obscurities and genres, and this month we’re finally here: 100% HARDCORE!  Two Italian bands from two eras far apart, one among the heavyweights of Scandinavian råpunk d-beat and one revelation from the highly acclaimed new wave of Chilean tupa-tupa fuzzcore.  Who are we talking about?  From the grey smog filled motor-city of northern Italy, Turin… we have a phenomenal discography of ROUGH‘s early recordings and the first time on vinyl for ARTURO‘s debut album “Conversazioni”, from the frozen helvete of Swedish mangelcore we have ASOCIAL‘s new album, and from the seedier meanders of Chiguayante in Chile we present S.A.P.U and their raw, nihilistic punk!  So to summarize: ASOCIAL “Kolsvart framtid” gatefold LP, ROUGH “Rude 1982-1983” gatefold LP,
ARTURO “Conversazioni” LP and S.A.P.U  “Curao, volao y con bajon” LP are all available for preorders.

The release date has been set for January 20 and, as usual, we’ll do our best to be able to start shipping by that date.  As is our custom, we have also made limited bundles available for those who wish to purchase multiple matched items at discounted price. The duration of these offers is entirely at our discretion and will likely end on the release date. And finally, our usual recommendations: don’t stress with unnecessary inquiries such as “have you shipped?”, tracking requests before the release date, changes or additions of items… in the pre-order phase of IMPETIGO we risked nervous breakdown over these things!  And act fast if you want to grab the colored-diehard versions, as you can see many of them are limited to only 100 copies, so they will go fast.

And now here the detailed descriptions of this month’s 4x ragers:

CRIPPLE BASTARDS “Your lies in check” gatefold LP and ARTURO “Giorni lontani 1992-1998” LP+CD: out NOW on FOAD Records!

Posted in Arturo, Cripple Bastards, Releases on January 21st, 2020 by foadmaster2022

As previously announced, we’re starting the new year with a deep dive into the mid ’90s Italian Hardcore & Grind meanders, with two bands that left a solid trace both in their local scene and on an international view… a blood-line made of uncontrollable speed, anger and insanely catchy songs. It’s the case of the hate-grind purveyors CRIPPLE BASTARDS, of which we’re honored to present a top notch re-issue of their debut full length “Your lies in check“, a true masterpiece of DIY Grindcore/Punk made of short and hateful tracks exploding at the speed of light, and the Torino Hardcore heroes ARTURO, with a total anthology of their early works (1992-1998) with Alfo on vocals, which means an irrepressible waterfall of energetic stop&go HC made of memorable riffs and a ballistic rhytmic section. Two bands that have crossed their paths for some time, in fact from 1996 to early 1997 Arturo’s drummer Paolo played in CB (in their post-“Your lies in check” phase) and even Arturo’s bass player Stefano joined CB for some gigs, the most memorable being those with Doom and Dropdead.

So here we are, CRIPPLE BASTARDSYour lies in check” gatefold LP and ARTUROGiorni lontani 1992-1998” LP+CD: out NOW on F.O.A.D. Records, there’s still a handful of ltd. colored vinyl copies for both, don’t sleep on it if you want to catch them, they’ll be gone soon.  Most preorders have been sent already, the last part will be shipped in the next 2-3 days!

More in detail..:

CRIPPLE BASTARDS “Your lies in check” gatefold LP (F.O.A.D. 186)

The debut full length by Italy’s hate-filled Grindcore masters available again in a top quality edition! Originally recorded in 1995 and released in 1996, “Your lies in check” is a 69 song tornado of ultra-violent Grindcore/Punk blasting at the speed of light! Quoting an older review of the album: “With no shadow of doubt a milestone in Italian Grind/Hardcore and an important release also if seen on an international view. Over 7.000 copies sold if you sum the different LP+CD+MC versions around. Sixty-nine songs of pure hate in fourty-nine minutes. Grindcore of vile screams, guttural bellows and a lot of yelling. Music that is short, fast and to the point. Slow parts that are heavy and dirgey, showing no signs of fun. Superfast Hatecore/Grind with a rocking Punk edge unique in its kind. Includes over the top anthems (Italia di merda, Stimmung, Prospettive limitate, 1974, Padroni, Images of war / Images of pain..) covered by plenty of bands worldwide.” Watch the trailer HERE

Audio re-transferred from the original reels and mastered at Toxic Basement Studio

Original 1996 artwork restored and restyled

Gatefold sleeve with lyrics, photos and a repro of the original poster

==================

ARTURO “Giorni lontani 1992-1998” LP+CD  (F.O.A.D. 173)

Torino, Northern Italy, is with no trace of doubt one of the areas that gave birth to some of the most important Italian Hardcore bands of all eras… NEGAZIONE, DECLINO, CONTR-AZIONE, 5# BRACCIO, ROUGH just to mention a few. And the great thing about this city is that all this did not only last in the ’80s but had a solid continuation in the decades to follow.  Bands like ARTURO, CRUNCH, FRAMMENTI, BELLI-COSI, C.O.V. took the legacy of the giants that came before and ruled the ’90s reinventing Hardcore with creativity, passion and a flash of genius in song-writing. ARTURO were certainly the fastest and those that have been more pristine in sticking to the total Hardcore formula, especially in their early years with Alfo on vocals. So this anthology is all focused on that time, the early years of one of the most furious Italian Hardcore bands of the Nineties… fast, top adrenalinic Hardcore that gives no time to breathe from start to finish!

It includes their debut CD “Ar-cor” (1995), the two Ep’s “Isterico” (1997) and “Topo volante” (1998) plus a bonus CD with the impossible to find first demo and an unreleased soundboard live at El Paso (Torino), 1996 opening for CRIPPLE BASTARDS (actually at that time ARTURO shared their drummer and bass-player with CB!).  63 songs of manic fast TORINO HC!!! Double insert with lyrics, original artworks and photos. Watch the trailer HERE

Available in two different versions:

Die-hard swirl transparent blue vinyl limited to 100 copies

Solid black vinyl version limited to 300 copies
