FEAR OF GOD “Under the chainsaw – Complete Demos 1987” gatefold LP (picture disc, blue and black vinyl) OUT NOW on FOAD Records!!!

Posted in Fear Of God, Releases on May 29th, 2014 by foadmaster2022

The wait is over! After hitting the US soil with an intensive 3 day attendance with FOAD‘s record stand at Maryland Death Fest XII we’re back and happy to introduce a brand new ear splitting release. It was expected to come out 2 weeks earlier but due to a pressing plant’s delay, this just came in. All pre-orders have been immediately shipped of course. So, FEAR OF GODUnder the chainsaw – Complete Demos 1987” gatefold LP is out now on FOAD Records, available in 3 different versions: die-hard picture disc LP, solid blue vinyl and black vinyl. Carrying on our effort on bringing to light all the existing FEAR OF GOD‘s recordings in the most complete and quality-obsessed way, “Under the chainsaw” comes as the 3rd installment in the series after the s/t 21 track EP 1988 and “As statues fell” 12″.  It consists of what back in 1993 came out as their cult “Konserven” EP (FOG’s official Demo 1987 on vinyl) + a huge bonus of 22 songs taken from alternate (and unreleased) tapes recorded in the same period or even before, when the band had just been formed.

As the singer Erich Keller states “The material on this 12” EP documents the development of our sound. There was never any intention to release any of these recordings with the exception of the demo tape, which was previously released on a 7” EP entitled ‘Konserven’.“  You don’t need many words to explain how this sounds like. Every single frame of FEAR OF GOD is the most extreme and brutal delivery of what has been ever conceived in the clash of sounds between Noisecore and Hardcore. As Erich adds: “Hardcore, grindcore, death metal, noise, fuckshitupism – whatever. We didn’t agree on much, but on the following we were unanimous – that Fear Of God should be the most extreme band in the world, or as we would say, the most “brutal.” Every member of the band was under pressure to deliver his contribution with the utmost intensity. The drums had to go as fast as possible, the guitars should grind out riffs as well as produce a wall of noise, the bass and backing vocals should lay the heavily distorted grounds for the overall basic structure and I did everything I could to make my voice sound non-human.“  And this record shows the band’s first step in a short-lived yet hyper-generative progression that made of them one of the most impactful and radical harbingers of Hardcore pushed to inhuman limits of anger and aural destruction. As with all the other F.O.A.D. releases, the stuff included on this 12″ has been selected and scrupulously restored/mastered at Toxic Basement studio for the best possible sounding result on vinyl. Housed in a thick reverse board gatefold jacket with special half white half transparent UV-spot print and A2 poster, including extensive liner notes by Erich Keller and rare/unreleased photos and flyers.  And an extra surprise, did you ever expect to hear Fear Of God shredding ND’s “Scum”? It’s all in here.

Available in 3 different versions:

DIE-HARD PICTURE DISC LP ltd to 166 copies

BLUE VINYL ltd to 250 copies

BLACK VINYL

FEAR OF GOD “As statues fell” gatefold LP and ltd. picture disc LP out now!!

Posted in Fear Of God, Releases on March 21st, 2013 by foadmaster2022

The wait is over, FEAR OF GOD “As statues fell” gatefold LP has finally been delivered at FOAD Rec‘s headquarters and it’s a fucking destroyer!!

As previously announced, there are 3 different versions available:

– die-hard ltd. picture disc LP (200 copies)

– white vinyl (250 copies)

– black vinyl (250 copies)

..all of them served in a thick, glossy UV varnished gatefold jacket that is an accurate reproduction of the original sleeve as it came out in 25 years ago on Off The Disk Records.  And once again about the contents: remastered from original mastertapes, spiced up with 9 additional tracks, it now sounds better than ever before. The clean A-side recording is a tour de force with non-stop over the top brutality and highest speed-drumming – no triggers, no overdubs, just extremely brutal power. This was clearly the band’s climax as a live band. The B-side represents the impact on the audience: dirty, raw, violent – like a bunch of rabid dogs jumping off the stage to rip the audience apart. If their debut 21 track Ep (1988) tore you a new asshole, this 33 song version of “As statues fell” will leave you floored with its anti-tank gun gracefulness!

Here we go! Pre-orders for the longly awaited FEAR OF GOD “As statues fell” LP repress on FOAD Records are finally open! Originally released by Erich Keller’s cult label Off The Disk in 1988, “As statues fell” is an uncompromised manifesto of merciless ear-blasting Noise/Grind at its most savage and annihilating form. Remastered from original mastertapes, spiced up with 9 additional tracks, it now sounds better than ever before. The clean A-side recording is a tour de force with non-stop over the top brutality and highest speed-drumming – no triggers, no overdubs, just extremely brutal power. beware the upcoming FOAD assault! FEAR OF GOD, CRIPPLE BASTARDS and RAW POWER in the pressing plant…

Posted in Cripple Bastards, Fear Of God, Raw Power on March 2nd, 2013 by foadmaster2022

If February has been silent with no releases announced, it was just because we were preparing a massive assault for the next few months. We have just received the test presses for the longly awaited reissue of FEAR OF GOD “As statues fell” 12″ that is planned to be released on March 20th 2013 (presales starting next week). This will be available in 3 different versions: white vinyl, black vinyl and limited die hard picture LP, all of them served in a thick gatefold sleeve, repro of the original on Off The Disc. Needless to mention that this has been entirely remastered under direct supervision of Erich Keller and includes 9 bonus tracks from the incredible Fribourg show 1988, yes the one with the “throat explosions”! Fear of God 12″ test presses just arrived!

The second slasher raging to kill is the CRIPPLE BASTARDS “Live to hate people II / I” digipack CD including – on popular demand – the insane 2005’s Rovereto show interrupted by a furious riot and anarchists throwing bottles on stage. This has been captured by a crystal ultra-powerful soundboard recording, and besides the fun fact of all the insults and gags between each song, you also get the best sounding CB live performance ever. This also includes as bonus the older “Live to hate people” vol.1 originally released in 1998 as a 3″CD.

And the third of this infamous triptyc is a special deluxe reissue of RAW POWER‘s first 12″ “You are the victim” adding an incredible extra feature: the completely unknown and unreleased “God’s course” Demo 1982 that we recently found in Stiv Valli’s archives, recorded even before Mauro Codeluppi joined the band, and seeing his brother Giuseppe and Silvio trading vocal duties delivering embryonic versions of their early anthems. We’re releasing this as a digipak CD with thick booklet filled with photos, flyers and rare excerpts. This is the first of a series of 4 official reissues of RP’s 80s back-catalog, in the next months we’ll also bring to light their masterpiece “Screams from the gutter”, a remixed version of “After your brain” and an extended re-edition of “Mine to kill” adding the ultra-rare Italian alternate recordings of the album (still with Helder on drums!!) a real gem longly haunted by collectors.

Is that all? No. We’re also soon sending to the pressing plant: NERORGASMO “Discografia” double gatefold LP with 5 bonus live tracks not included in the previous FOAD Cd, UNDERAGE discography LP and CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER “Life in grave + extra” gatefold LP. You can expect all this madness to come out through the spring so keep checking our site!

FEAR OF GOD – 21 song 7″ deluxe picture disc gatefold EP – OUT NOW!! INTERVIEW WITH ERICH KELLER

Posted in Fear Of God, Interviews, Releases on July 18th, 2012 by foadmaster2022

As previously announced, the “silence sucks” grind battlefield of the Obscene Extreme Festival has been set as the official release ground of this ageless Noisecore classic, and we did it! From today this is also available via mailorder and we already shipped most of your pre-ordered copies. The limited diehard edition was sold out in a breathe even if we extended it to a few more copies (36 instead of 30) as some extra tshirts and patches surfaced from our ex warehouse. We also added an extra (xeroxed) sheet of the original never-seen-before backcover, hand numbered, to make the bundle even more special and unique. The regular edition consists of a picture disc 7″EP housed in a high glossy laminated gatefold cover with die cut, and includes a replica of the original sticker. It’s limited to 270 copies and you can order it here:

As previously mentioned, this is one of the most vital and important releases in the whole history of whatever you can point as Grindcore, Noisecore and extreme -core. In order to give you a better portrait of how this was conceived and the background that generated such an impressive blast of primordial brutality, we asked a few questions to Erich Keller, the band’s scream-out-lungs voice and also mind behind the Megawimp zine, Good Bad Music blog and the pioneeristic Off The Disk label, that back in the late ’80s brought to light some highly influential HC milestones (INFEST above all). What we got is a dynamic and detailed retrospective not just about FOG but also about many other interesting topics…here we go: Read more »
