POISON “Sons of evil” LP (F.O.A.D. 082) 2nd pressing

Pure infernal armageddon, not for the weak!! One of the most deviated, disgusting and anti-musical death metal aberrations ever conceived. BACK ON VINYL IN ITS MOST COMPLETE VERSION exactly as the cassette version that was circulating in the 80s! Originally released in 1984, “Sons of evil” is the first demo recording from the malevolent and sinister German entity known as Poison. This sounds so raw and extreme that even the band members took their time to decide whether to license a vinyl reissue or not, and the graal got unlocked only when after years of research through the most insane puritan collectors, we tracked a source whose quality was even “better” than the masters owned by the band and got it properly restored and mastered by our wizard H.O.D. at Toxic Basement studio. So one thing is sure: this LP is the matchless, best sounding version of “Sons of evil” you can dream about.  Now quoting what has been said already about this gem: as primitive and barbaric as a Stone Age gang-rape, this tape is possessed by total darkness and evil. Musically, this runs the gamut from morbidly mid-paced to intense and somewhat insane. It bears no real similarities to any of their German counterparts, such as Sodom, Destruction or Kreator. The slower parts sound very reminiscent of Hellhammer, with one very important exception: this is darker and more evil than Mr. Warrior and his cohorts ever could have hoped to be. The vocals of Virgin Slaughter are exactly what Tom should have been doing on releases such as “Satanic Rites”. Possessed and maniacal, at times, his demonic voice actually accentuates the dark mood of the music, rather than detracting from it. As for the rest of the songwriting, this is like a war on the senses. Primitive and violent in nature, the riffs saw through you while the drums pound your skull into oblivion. It is almost difficult to believe something so bestial and grotesque existed back in 1984. The sound is on the same level as the “Death By Metal” demo, from Mantas, and makes the old Venom and Bathory records seem like they were done in high-dollar facilities. “Sons of Evil” is a monstrous offering from a band that had truly tapped into something dark and aggressive.  Includes poster and an old school fanzine style booklet with rare photos, flyers and excerpts from zines/mags of that era.

POISON “Bestial death” LP (F.O.A.D. 095) 2nd pressing

New mastering made from a band’s lost and found source exhumed years after F.O.A.D.’s 2016 reissue and sounding better than ever! Raw, extreme and BESTIAL blackened Death Metal at its most savage form. Recorded in fall 1985 and following their classic debut Demotape “Sons of evil”, this second chapter offers another journey into the realms of sonic perversion and mental obscurity. This LP offers another chapter in POISON’s uncompromised evil, keeping the original sound the most faithful and pristine as possible with that claustrophobic feeling of cavernous horror that no other band has been able to recreate at so crude dimensions. Alternating moments of ultra-fast (for the time) proto blasting mayhem with slowed down breaks of suffocating doom, “Bestial death” recalls the sickest elements of Hellhammer’s demos and of course the school of Venom, or to keep it closer to Teutonic savagery, Sodom on their “Witching Metal” demotape.  Deluxe sleeve with restored original artwork, poster and a 16 page fanzine styled booklet including old interviews, reviews, flyers and rare photos. Licensed and approved by the band!

POISON “Awakening of the dead” LP (F.O.A.D. 096) 2nd pressing

3rd installement in FOAD’s deadly mission of bringing back to light POISON’s official demotapes in the most complete and pristine shape.  After their terrifying first two abominations (“Sons of evil” – 1985 and “Bestial death” -1985) and a live tape, 1986 sees these pioneering German maniacs deliver another nightmarish assault of dark, creepy death metal.  It’s the turn of “Awakening of the dead” that even showing some kind of progress in their brutal primitivity and a 4-track production, still delivers the insane rawness and hallucinating morbidity they were feared for. On a promo sheet of the time they were describing it as follows: “POISON play a very extreme mixture of ultra-fast + ripping death metal and more classical, Black Sabbath-inspired doom stuff, without trying to follow and special trend or ripping off any famous band”.  It’s all there, think of a death chamber unleashing the most stabbing screams of terror in a chtlulhu-ish pace alternating blasts of uncontrolled fury with Hellhammer tinged breakdowns.  Once again mastered at Toxic Basement Studio from the best sounding source in existence still keeping the impact and genuinity of the original sound as it was on tape.  Deluxe sleeve with restored original artwork, poster and a 16 page fanzine styled booklet including old interviews, reviews, flyers and rare photos. Licensed and approved by the band!

VIETNAM “Bad symptom – Discography Pt.1″ LP+CD and”Full of mistake world – Discography Pt.2” LP+CD, POISON “Sons of evil” LP, “Bestial death” LP and “Awakening of the dead” LP… preorders start NOW!!

Posted in Poison, Vietnam on September 10th, 2024 by foadmaster2022

The end of summer corresponds to the beginning of a very hectic and turbulent time here, because we’ll soon be moving all of F.O.A.D. into one huge warehouse that will unite both our catalog releases and all of the scareystore mailorder stock. It will be a massive and very complex move but we will finally have everything in one final place, well organized with offices, and all our material at our fingertips without the support of outside logistics anymore, after years and years of moving. Looking forward to this phase – on which we will keep you well updated, here we are with a new row of 5x releases, to keep our thrash-fire burning as always.  A somewhat unusual combination, but due to a series of conjunctions, we decided to put together the discography of Osaka’s legendary VIETNAM (consisting of a series of extremely rare, invisible, impossible-to-find tapes) with – given the high demand – the LP reissues of the 3x POISON demotapes, already released on F.O.A.D. in 2016 and quickly sold out… here reissued in slightly different versions with the peculiarity that “Bestial death” is a new mastering derived from a source exhumed by the band that sounds better than the one that was used on the previous versions.

So the clash of titans for September consists of a hidden gem of Japanese hardcore/thrash 1986-1989 era and the complete reissue of the cavernous horror demos of Germany’s POISON, among the true founding fathers and precursors of Teutonic black/death metal: VIETNAM “Bad symptom – Discography Pt.1″ LP+CD and”Full of mistake world – Discography Pt.2” LP+CD, POISON “Sons of evil” LP, “Bestial death” LP and “Awakening of the dead” LP… preorders start NOW at www.scareystore.com !! As usual we have made available limited discounted bundles for those who want to grab the 3 x POISON in bulk or for those who want to buy all 5 diehard editions together. They will be short-lasting, so hurry!  And as our usual recommendation: try to be patient, your orders will be processed and shipped as fast as possible and we will update you with tracking, don’t overload us with anxious or confusing requests such as address changes, additions and substitutions, changes of all sorts and so on… consider that we are dealing with 5 releases in conjunction with a huge move, so we will do our best.  If all goes well and runs smoothly, by next month (or by November) you can expect an unprecedented colossal, the long awaited F.O.A.D. 300 boxset, the most enormous and articulated in the label’s history. Fingers crossed!!!

TERRORIZER “Before the downfall 1987-1989” 2xCD digipack, POISON “Into the abyss – resurrected” CD and POISON “Full ’86 live set in rehearsal” CD : out NOW on FOAD Records!!

Posted in Poison, Releases, Terrorizer (L.A.) on August 24th, 2021 by foadmaster2022

A quick update on what has been going on in the last few months… as many of you are most likely aware, there are currently severe issues affecting the vinyl manufacturing process on a worldwide scale. Not only are the increasingly extended waiting times an issue, but also the limited availability of source materials, as worsening Covid scenarios around the globe slow down the production of raw vinyl material and its transport to pressing plants. This said, most of our planned release dates have been pushed back by approx 2 months. In the time since our last vinyl outputs (June) we have worked stubbornly to fix this situation and we’re glad to say that from September onwards we’ll be perfectly in line with the set deadlines and there will be no more empty months. As you can imagine we have a lot of irons in the fire and we don’t want to sit still for reasons beyond our will. And waiting for the kraken that we’re about to unleash in September we did not want to leave you empty-handed even in August, so we have decided to fill this waiting phase with 3 x CD releases …and following the many requests, we have picked up two classic bands from our back-catalog: TERRORIZER and POISON! The recent upgraded vinyl reissue of TERRORIZERBefore the downfall 1987-1989” has been wiped out in few weeks, so why not making it available again on a deluxe 2xCD digipack set, same story with POISON‘s best sounding version of their classic “Into the abyss“, or better “Into the abyss – resurrected“, previously only available on LP and sold out very quickly… here’s another chance to get it, for the first time on a CD only version. And to complete the onslaught, why not adding another POISON classic, their raw and barbaric “Full ’86 live set in rehearsal” previously only included in the gigantic “Hoelle und vernichtung” Boxset as double LP, now back in stock for the first time on CD. So to sum it all up: TERRORIZERBefore the downfall” 2xCD digipack, POISON “Into the abyss – Resurrected” CD and POISONFull ’86 live set in rehearsal” CD are all out now and ready to ship. Since we are rushing towards the announcement of the next vinyl warfare there won’t be any preorders for these, they’re all directly out today!

More in detail about each release:

TERRORIZER “Before the downfall” 2xCD digipack (F.O.A.D. 069/CD)

Deluxe 2xCD reissue of this total Grindcore classic on F.O.A.D. Records, finally back in stock in a new, upgraded version with 1 extra song (“Funeral bitch” – Master cover) that was accidentally missing in the 2014-2016 editions. Quoting OSCAR GARCIA: “This is the first and the only true release of Terrorizer LA demos ever captured on vinyl, not a low quality bootleg but an official release, none better than to have it all on F.O.A.D. Records. Awesome collection for any Terrorizer fan!“. The ultimate early years’ anthology from LA’s godfathers of GRIND, the one and only… TERRORIZER! This monsterwork starts off with “Collapse“, a completely unreleased song from the “World downfall” studio session unearthed from the band’s secret archives… next is an alternative take of their split tape with NAUSEA (1988) that sounds like machine-gun fire in the face and then you can enjoy all their existing demos and early works in astonishingly great sound quality, mastered with total audiophile passion from the best sounding sources in existence!! Some of these recordings are the reason why Shane Embury of Napalm Death back in his tape-trading days got completely crazy for them and persuaded Earache to sign them and bring to light “World downfall” (when the band was already on hiatus). “Countless blast warriors still strive for this classic sound and catchy song structure, but no one can match it on Oscar Garcia’s pitch(less) caveman growl! This is the perfect storm of incredible songwriting and recording quality” (Scott Hull of Pig Destroyer / Agoraphobic Nosebleed about “World downfall“). 46 SONGS of bulldozing L.A. Grindcore with a solid Death Metal imprint, all the classics you want to hear included!

* Deluxe double CD digipack (8 panels) with different colors than the previous versions

* 2 booklets (38 pages in total) featuring extensive interviews, loads of never-seen-before photos, scans of old flyers, demo artworks and more!

* Fixed bonus CD with 1 extra song (“Funeral bitch” – Master cover) accidentally not appearing on the previous versions

POISON “Into the abyss- Resurrected” CD (F.O.A.D. 162/CD)

POISON‘s infernal cult is alive!! Just when you thought that it was all said and done with F.O.A.D.‘s monster-work “Hoelle und vernichtung” (a colossal boxset including the band’s complete discography), the wizard of darkness and evil Uli Hildenbrand unearthed from his rotting vaults a lost & found mastertape of “Into the abyss” transfered directly from the studio reels back in 1987, unlike all the previously existing re-issues that were all taken from the 1st vinyl pressing. This version is the most pristine and faithful to the original studio recordings you can think of, sounding farly better than any other version around. Pure infernal armageddon from one of the most ancient pioneering Black/Death Metal hellhounds of the mittel-European scene of the 80’s. Originally recorded in 1986, released on tape in 1987 and then 6 years later on vinyl/LP by Median Creations, “Into the abyss” is the only real studio recording of this Teutonic blasphemic horde and hands down their most powerful production, considering that all the previous demos were rough DIY recordings made in their practice space.

What you will find on this masterpiece is pummeling and barbaric death/thrash metal with plenty of early black metal elements from their earlier works. The progress this band had made in less then a year of their previous recording is remarkable, but at the same time, when looking at each demo in chronological order, you see a steady progression in their sound from recording to recording, so seeing the band improve this much should not really be a shocker. “Into the abyss” is essential for anyone even remotely into brutal, vicious 80’s death/thrash, as well as old school black metal and the mid-late 80’s proto-death metal sound. CD in jewel case with 8 page booklet including photos and liner notes (by Uli Hildenbrand). Watch the trailer HERE

POISON “Full ’86 live set in rehearsal” CD (F.O.A.D. 243)

Previously only included in the “Hoelle und vernichtung” discography vinyl boxset (now completely sold out) this total cult session is finally back, for the first time on CD! Raw, punishing Black/Thrash from one of Germany’s oldest and most influential hordes of darkness and evil! A blood-drenching set featuring all their classic anthems in the crudest form plus some hidden gems that haven’t been included on their demos and album.

Quoting Uli Hildenbrand himself: “The best complete recording of a POISON Live set in decent quality (sound and performance-wise), done in our rehearsal room but with somewhat better equipment and -of course- remastered in the most effective way by F.O.A.D. and yours truly! It was recorded in November 1986 in preparation of our first (and only) studio session planned for the end of December, when we were still trying to figure out which of the songs we would eventually record in the studio. Some oft he latest material was still „work in progress“, especially „Sphynx“ wich I think was rehearsed here for the first time ever…  On the other hand, pretty much all of the trax we’d already recorded for the previous 3 demos are featured here in vastly superior versions. Listen to „Angel of Satan“ or „Legions of Hell“ AND there is that one song that we never recorded before or again – although it’s probably one of our best (in retrospect) – check out „Zombie Dance“ [continues in the CD booklet] …” Watch the trailer HERE

CRAWL NOISE “Wall of Noise Core 1987-1989” LP and POISON “Into the abyss – resurrected” LP+CD are OUT NOW on FOAD Records!!

Springtime at FOAD kicks in with a pestilent wind of mephitic sonic terror!  As announced, our double retaliatory assault for this month consist of two pioneering bands from Switzerland and Germany, the first delivering some of the most extreme and anti-musical Noise / Grind brutality ever conceived and the second is a Black / Death Metal legend that forged the darkest history of the ’80s Teutonic underground. We are glad to let you know that CRAWL NOISEWall of Noise Core 1987-1989” LP and POISONInto the abyss – Resurrected” LP+CD are both OUT NOW on F.O.A.D. Records!  As expected the diehard edition of POISONInto the abyss” on splatter vinyl was sold out in few days. We still have it on black vinyl ltd to 200 copies. And if you’re looking for the dirty white swirl vinyl version of CRAWL NOISE (ltd to 100) we suggest you to act fast as there aren’t many left!

More in detail about each release:

CRAWL NOISE “Wall of noisecore” LP (F.O.A.D. 158)

Get ready for a merciless audio slaughter and ruin your turntable needle forever!! CRAWL NOISE were a terrorizing Swiss unit that decimated eardrums in that late 80’s phase (1987 to 1989) when Grindcore was starting to spread all around and some maniacs tried to push the genre to even fiercer extremes, giving birth to the whole short-song Noisecore saga of bands like 7 MINUTES OF NAUSEA, ANAL CUNT, VIOLENT NOISE ATTACK, STENCH OF CORPSE, SOUND POLLUTION, TUMOR and so on. CRAWL NOISE were clearly inspired by early NAPALM DEATH and SORE THROAT, but they pushed the level of madness and brutality to way more devastating boundaries. And their drummer Osi was then called to join the mighty FEAR OF GOD, so try to imagine how fast he was. As Erich Keller states: “After I saw Crawl Noise live, I tried everything to steal the drummer Osi for my own band Fear Of God.” This LP includes all their existing recordings: the first demo “Musical rape” (1988), their Demo #2 (1989) and two complete live sets from 1987 to 1988 (one was included on the B-side of their only 7″ and the other in some killer compilation tapes like “Rudi Rat 1” and SOA’s “Use your anger“).

What you get here is a deadly tornado of aberrant, antimusical Noisecore putrefaction blasting through impossibly fast drumming delirium, some awful background noise that could be a guitar/bass as much as a microphone pushed into a cement mixer, and at the top of all some of the most disturbing vomited grunts you can think of. Countless tracks,  complete acoustic demolition! Includes an insert with liner notes and original artworks from their few releases around at the time! Click HERE for the trailer!

Available in 2 different versions:

Diehard swirl filthy white vinyl strictly limited to 100 copies

Black vinyl limited to 200

The progress this band had made in less then a year of their previous recording is remarkable, but at the same time, when looking at each demo in chronological order, you see a steady progression in their sound from recording to recording, so seeing the band improve this much should not really be a shocker. “Into the abyss” is essential for anyone even remotely into brutal, vicious 80’s death/thrash, as well as old school black metal and the mid-late 80’s proto-death metal sound. LP with bonus CD and A2 poster with photos and liner notes (written by Uli Hildenbrand). Click HERE for the trailer!

CRAWL NOISE “Wall of Noisecore” LP and POISON “Into the abyss – resurrected” LP+CD: preorders start NOW!!

Posted in Crawl Noise, Poison, Pre Orders, Releases on March 12th, 2019 by foadmaster2022

After the surprise blitz with the ultra-limited Grimcorpses and Sidetracked EPs (sold out in minutes) here we are again, ready to announce 2 more releases for this month. As many of you know, FOAD Records has a long tradition in putting out the most extreme and cacophonous Noise/Grind detonators, just think of bands like Tumor, V.N.A., Sore Throat, 7 Minutes Of Nausea, Fear Of God, Noise, early Cripple Bastards and so on.. So when Patrick from CRAWL NOISE contacted us asking if we would have liked the idea of putting out a total CN discography, we obviously flew off the desk accepting without second thoughts. Not many labels around would dare to do something like this, but we grew up listening to this horrifying barrage of “musical rape“, so we’re proud to make it happen.

And what about the other LP scheduled for this announcement? Nothing else but POISON. If you think that after doing all their demos on single LPs and then the massive “Hoelle und vernichtung” boxset all cards have been played you’ll be surprised by this. Few months ago Uli “Angel Of Death” Hildenbrand contacted us explaining that he had just found a tape including a great sounding reel-to-tape transfer of the classic “Into the abyss” album (originally recorded in 1987), so we compared it to all the previous re-editions and this one is with no doubt the real deal, it totally rips! So we agreed about a final, top sounding (well we can’t say “audiophile” for Poison!) LP version of “Into the abyss” as we consider it a timeless masterpiece of true pioneering Black / Death Metal, and it completely deserves to be rediscovered and appreciated in the sound quality as faithful as possible to how it was conceived at the time.

So preorders for CRAWL NOISEWall of Noisecore 1987/1989” LP and POISONInto the abyss – Resurrected” LP+CD are up now. There are some limited editions on swirl and splatter vinyl, only 100 copies x each release… you know what to do! Also, in conjunction with these releases we have just printed some official POISON tshirts, they are limited and we’re not planning to keep them in stock after selling out this first run, so better act fast!

POISON “Into the abyss – Resurrected” LP + CD + poster (F.O.A.D. 162)

POISON’s infernal cult is alive!! Just when you thought that it was all said and done with FOAD‘s monster-work “Hoelle und vernichtung” (a colossal boxset including the band’s complete discography), the wizard of darkness and evil Uli Hildenbrand unearthed from his rotting vaults a lost & found mastertape of “Into the abyss” transfered directly from the studio reels back in 1987, unlike all the previously existing re-issues that were all taken from the 1st vinyl pressing. This version is the most pristine and faithful to the original studio recordings you can think of, sounding farly better than any other release around. Pure infernal armageddon from one of the most ancient pioneering Black / Death Metal hellhounds of the mittel-European scene of the 80’s. Originally recorded in 1986, released on tape in 1987 and then 6 years later on vinyl/LP by Median Creations, “Into the abyss” is the only real studio recording of this blasphemic Teutonic horde and hands down their most powerful production, considering that the previous demos were all rough DIY recordings made in their practice space.

At last! One of the most anticipated releases in F.O.A.D.‘s history is ready and it finally invaded our warehouse!!! Poison “Höelle und Vernichtung – Complete discography 1984/1987” boxset is here and it’s ready to go… there are only 30 copies left of the diehard edition on splatter vinyl with extra backpatch and A1 poster so blast at the speed of light! Please, be patient because this mammoth is HUGE (each copy weighs 2,4 Kg) and will take a while to send out all preorders, of course we’ll do our best to send them all out within a week or two… And this is just the beginning! This scorching hot summer will see a streak of releases by F.O.A.D. Records, so keep your eyes open, the next batch of preorders will be announced in few days and then another will follow!

All the existing POISON recordings from 1984 to 1987 + an extensive choice of unreleased material, over 5 hours of pure infernal armageddon from one of the most ancient pioneering Black/Death Metal hellhounds of the mittel-European scene of the 80s. To make things fair for those who had already got our previous POISON vinyl releases, this boxset is somehow completing the series because “Sons of evil“, “Bestial Death” and “Awakening of the dead” on it are featured on CD only, while all the rest (that has mostly never been released before) is included on LP. Quoting the band’s master-mind of evil Uli “Angel Of Death” Hildenbrand: “When F.O.A.D. contacted me the first time to discuss the possibility of a complete re-release of all those ancient tapes, I basically thought they were nuts – and told them so – however; through sheer tenacity they managed to convince me that it was about time for a really professional overworking of the material – hence the re-release of the first 3 demos and now THIS: basically everything you always wanted to know about POISON but were afraid to ask for! Seriously; this box has it all – the best sounding-material available, all lovingly remastered and re-designed (with a little help from yours truly); all of it taken from the original masters, some of it never released before! Even I myself was amazed by the results – which is something that happens very rarely – so, if you are a fan and you want to experience the story of the band from beginning to end, here is your perfect time machine! So if you’re ready for some 5-6 hours of poisonous pleasures – IMMERSE YOURSELF!

This monster comes in an embossed deluxe box and includes 5 x LPs, 2 x digipack CDs and a 60 page hard cover book collecting all their existing photos, flyers, artworks, ‘zine excerpts and more! Every recording has been ripped from the master-tapes provided by the band and maniacally restored and remastered. More in detail about the contents:
