More in detail about each release:

POISON “Sons Of Evil” LP (F.O.A.D. 082)

2nd pressing on blood red and ultra-clear vinyl!

Pure infernal armageddon, not for the weak!! One of the most deviated, disgusting and anti-musical Death Metal aberrations ever conceived. 2nd pressing on FOAD Records, this LP is made exactly as the cassette version that was circulating in the 80s! Originally released in 1984, “Sons of evil” is the first demo recording from the malevolent and sinister German entity known as POISON. This sounds so raw and extreme that even the band members took their time to decide whether to license a vinyl reissue or not, and the graal got unlocked only when after years of research through the most insane puritan collectors, we tracked a source whose quality was even “better” than the masters owned by the band and got it properly restored and mastered by our wizard H.O.D. at Toxic Basement studio. So one thing is sure: this LP is the matchless, best sounding version of “Sons of evil” you can dream about.  Now quoting what has been already said about this gem: as primitive and barbaric as a Stone Age gang-rape, this tape is possessed by total darkness and evil. Musically, this runs the gamut from morbidly mid-paced to intense and somewhat insane. It bears no real similarities to any of their German counterparts, such as Sodom, Destruction or Kreator. The slower parts sound very reminiscent of Hellhammer. The vocals of Virgin Slaughter are possessed and maniacal, at times, his demonic voice actually accentuates the dark mood of the music, rather than detracting from it. As for the rest of the songwriting, this is like a war on the senses. Primitive and violent in nature, the riffs saw through you while the drums pound your skull into oblivion. It is almost difficult to believe something so bestial and grotesque existed back in 1984. The sound is on the same level as the “Death By Metal” demo, from Mantas, and makes the old Venom and Bathory records seem like they were done in high-dollar facilities. “Sons of Evil” is a monstrous offering from a band that had truly tapped into something dark and aggressive.  Includes a booklet printed on old school fanzine styled light blue paper, with rare photos, flyers and excerpts from zines/mags of that era!

TRACKLIST:

1) The omen 2) Inferno breaks out 3) Black death 4) Demon 5) Reaper 6) Possessed 7) Angel of Satan / March to hades

More in detail about each release:

DISTRUST “A dream of peace +” gatefold 2xLP (F.O.A.D. 116)

FOAD‘s legacy with pioneering Swedish Hardcore / Punk bands goes on! After unearthing the early recordings of the speed Hardcore maniacs ASOCIAL, it’s time for another classic act of the same “family”… DISTRUST! Brief history: Distrust came together in the summer of 1983 when the 2 brothers Kenneth & Tommy (from B.T.D.) joined Håkan & Peter L (before in Why War?). Håkan had just started singing in Asocial (later on drums) and Tompa (Asocial) lived next door to Kenneth and Tommy so it was natural those two bands did a lot of things together. After that Distrust dissolved in the end of -84 or early -85 Kenneth joining Asocial on bass (later on guitar).

This double LP discography includes all their existing recordings compiled by Håkan straight from the master tapes for the best sounding result! “A dream of peace” Demo 1983, “Vi Rustar Dom Dör” Demo 1984, the split live tape with Asocial, all tracks from “No War No More 1 & 2“, “Really Fast Vol.II” plus extra rehearsal and live tracks, for a total of 61 songs of uncompromised Swedish Punk / Hardcore mangel!! They sound as raw and furious as ASOCIAL with an even punker approach. If you’re into raw straightforward Scandinavian HC / Punk and enjoy bands like Mob 47, Crude SS, Missbrukarna, Svart Parad, Headcleaners, you just can’t miss this! Housed in a thick gatefold sleeve including a 11″ x 11″ packed with liner notes, photos, flyers and original artworks!

Die-hard silver vinyl limited to 100

Black vinyl limited to 400

QUEST OBJECT PROJECT “It’s danger” LP (F.O.A.D. 117)

Q.O.P. (Quest Object Project) was one of the first Japanese bands to combine Metal and Punk in a very peculiar way that would later evolve into a solid trademark for several bands from the Tokyo area. They were formed in 1983 by Dr. Euro, also drummer in the legendary HC/Punk unit THE EXECUTE, from which a couple members created GASTUNK. Musically, this release features an aggressive form of Speed Metal with NWOBHM influences and an intense Punk overtone. The production is simple and bloody raw adding a Punk-tinged feel to the whole thing. To make it simple, you can hear influences of Motörhead, Tank and Warfare on their Metal side, and so far as it concerns the Punk approach, GBH and Discharge are the first comparisons coming to mind. Euro’s drumming is tight and solid as always, also performed well is Kasuya’s bass, but the standout member is easily Satoshi, on both lead vocals and guitar. He possesses a solid range, opting to sing clean vocals in a higher octave primarily, though he handles singing in a lower range just as well. Satoshi’s guitar work is also very good, boasting heaps of catchy and creative riffs at every turn, as well as flashy aggressive solos on nearly every song. Q.O.P.‘s discography consists of 2 demos: a self titled tape (1985) and “It’s danger!” that was the re-edition of the first one adding two more songs from a different studio session.

Obviously, this LP includes all their existing recordings (the 10 songs of “It’s danger“) freshly ripped from the original reels by Euro himself and specially mastered for vinyl at Toxic Basement. This is hands down the best sounding version of this Metal/Punk gem that will both entertain those into Japanese classics like G.I.S.M., R.U.G., Rommel etc… and those who are simply looking for a solid piece of primordial SpeedMetal / Punk aggression. Includes an 80s-styled booklet with ultra-rare flyers, ads and photos and an OBI strip with liner notes!

So for this month we’re back to attack with a Japanese Hardcore ripper + the 2nd pressing of one of our absolute Grindcore best-sellers. The Japanese underground scene with zillions of legendary Hardcore / Punk / Metal / Grind bands has always attracted us a lot, it’s an inexhaustible source of obscure demos and rarities to be discovered.

Here you get their complete studio discography on vinyl! And, at popular demand, we had to give a 2nd pressing to TERRORIZER‘s early day anthology “Before the downfall 1987-1989” because it’s a Grindcore masterpiece that deserves to be easily available to every Grind maniac! We have re-styled it in a slightly different edition all printed in blue instead of orange as the previous one. – FCDN TORMENTOR “Dungeon days 1982-1985” gatefold LP + bonus CD + booklet (F.O.A.D. 114)

This LP shows what these LA Speedcore/Thrash maniacs are able to deliver today!! They took their very first session written in 1985 and entirely re-recorded in 2015 it with a solid yet raw, ass-kicking production. The final result is an ominous cyclone of thrashing cruelty! When it comes to Thrash it’s difficult to overcome a band rooted in the Californian scenario of the mid ’80s.. they know the best skills in riff-oriented aggression, blood drenched solos and tight, pummelling drum bombing. All of this topped by some caustic, old Slayer reminescent vocals! The LP contains 9 songs freshly recorded in 2015, the bonus CD includes the original ultra-rare 1985 session + 12 live tracks recorded at Fender’s Ballroom, Long Beach, CA, 1986 and Balboa Theatre, Los Angeles, CA, 1986. Presented in an elegant gatefold sleeve + ‘zine styled booklet with rare artworks, flyers, photos, band liner-notes and an extensive interview made by Laurent Ramadier of Snakepit Magazine! If you’re into pioneering US Thrash and you want to discover the fastest and sickest underground extemity that generated a lot of speed obsessed Metal/Hardcore bands in the years to follow, this is mandatory!!
