EYEHATEGOD / PSYCHO Split 9″ pre-orders start NOW!

Posted in Eyehategod, Pre Orders, Psycho, Releases on June 8th, 2015 by foadmaster2022

Ok, this is hands down our most incendiary release for summer 2015… We have been working on this for a veeeery long time and it’s a dream come true finally to be here to announce it. EYEHATEGOD / PSYCHO Split 9″ is up for pre-orders!!

The official release date has been set for the Hellfest Open Air Festival in Clisson, France where EHG will perform on Sunday 21st June and where, as usual, you will find us at FOAD‘s massive record stand in the Metal Market area. Mailorder copies will start to ship on June 23 as soon as we’ll be back!

New Orleans’ Sludgecore lords EHG team up with Boston’s sickest grinding Hardcore veterans Psycho on a devastating 9″ slab of vinyl!! Yes, ninefuckinginches of uncontrollable, sheer insanity and negativity from two bands that have never failed delivering anguished, blood-dripping sonic violence over the last 3 decades.. Both sides have been recorded live in Europe during their summer tours June-July 2011, and the audio quality of these soundboard recordings is simply astonishing, clean, powerful and heavy as a steamroller crushing your eardrums! Both sides capture the very core of the intensity of these bands on stage, and you know what to expect: EHG crank out 3 tormented classics of misanthropy-tinged heaviness.. “Story of the eye“, “New Orleans is the New Vietnam” and “Sister fucker“, PSYCHO complete the hecatomb with 6 short and fast stabs of rabid Hardcore/Grind in their own matchless style.

What else to add?  We chose to do this as a 9″ because we find it a highly collectable and enjoyable format and reminds us some classic oversized 8″ pearls of the ’80s Japanese Hardcore scene of which we are total maniacs… and to get even closer to that feeling, the front cover art was drawn by Malleus taking inspiration from an old Kikejii flexi disc released in 1983 by ADK Records! It also comes with an insert with both bands’ photos!

Dedicated to Joey LaCaze and Seth Putnam

Available in 3 different versions:

DIE-HARD TRANSPARENT RED WITH BLUE SLICES limited to 150 copies

DIE-HARD SEABLUE WITH RED AND OXBLOOD SPLATTERS limited to 150 copies

REGULAR BLACK VINYL limited to 700 copies

Posted in Desecration, Poison, Releases on May 25th, 2015 by foadmaster2022

Time has come to finally unleash the two threats that F.O.A.D. Records prepared for May! Crawling from the darkest past, POISON‘s long lost demo “Sons of evil” infected a lot of people like an unforgiving venom and the ultra die-hard edition sold out in few hours! The limited one suffered from the same fate and even the solid black copies got looted on preorder, so act fast because this one won’t last much longer! Talking about cult recordings, don’t miss the highly anticipated DESECRATION‘s boxset “Dead…Yet, not forgotten“, a titanic release that will make you  breathe the inspiring air of Bay Area during the golden era of Californian Thrash!

DESECRATION “Dead… yet, not forgotten” 4xCD + 1xDVD Boxset

Over 4 years in the making, here comes another milestone of stubbornness and dedication to the true underground roots put together by your beloved F.O.A.D. psychos! Pioneering Death/Thrash Metal in the best Bay Area tradition delivered by maniacs that lived the very core of the early Californian Thrash scene and roadied for Possessed and Slayer tours! 4 x CDs, 86 songs in over four hours of neck-breaking devastation including all the existing demo recordings, loads of unreleased tunes and live cuts all taken from Bob Yost’s personal collection (mint 1st generation sources) restored and mastered with obsessive dedication to deliver you the best possible sonic mayhem! This ultra exhaustive discography shows the band through its different stages of evolution: from the early line-up that occasionally featured Mike Sus (Possessed) on drums, mostly leaning toward a primordial brand of raw blackened Death Metal – think of early Death and Possessed, to the latter 2nd line-up moving to total mind blowing Thrash oozing the strong Crossover/HC influence that invaded the Californian scene of that time thanks to bands like Attitude Adjustment, Cryptic Slaughter, D.R.I. and tons more. This monsterwork also features an extra CD compiling all Bob Yost’s other bands from 1988 to 1991, among which you get POSSESSED with their devastating Demo 1991 + 10 unreleased tracks with that special line-up, and a radio interview. And believe it or not it’s hands down some of the fastest and rawest POSSESSED material ever heard! And there’s even more: a DVD tracing the history of the band through the years, including shows with Chris Reifert (Autopsy / Death) on drums and a rehearsal with Tim Howell of Sacrilege B.C.!

To cut it short, this has all the credentials to be considered a piece of Bay Area Metal history. The packaging consists of a 12 panel digipack including 2 ultra-thick booklets (75 pages filled with photos, flyers, liner-notes and lyrics) + an extra slipcase and OBI-card.  Fully authorized by every former member, this boxset is entirely dedicated in memory of the highly missed founding member Bob Yost.

POISON “Sons of evil” LP + booklet

Pure infernal armageddon, not for the weak!! One of the most deviated, disgusting and anti-musical Death Metal aberrations ever conceived. FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER ON VINYL IN ITS MOST COMPLETE VERSION exactly as the cassette version that was circulating in the 80s! Originally released in 1984, “Sons of evil” is the first demo recording from the malevolent and sinister German entity known as Poison. This sounds so raw and extreme that even the band members took their time to decide whether to license a vinyl reissue or not, and the graal got unlocked only when after years of research through the most insane puritan collectors, we tracked a source whose quality was even “better” than the masters owned by the band and got it properly restored and mastered by our wizard H.O.D. at Toxic Basement Studio.

So one thing is sure: this LP is the matchless, best sounding version of “Sons of evil” you can dream about.  Now quoting what has been said already about this gem: as primitive and barbaric as a Stone Age gang-rape, this tape is possessed by total darkness and evil. Musically, this runs the gamut from morbidly mid-paced to intense and somewhat insane. It bears no real similarities to any of their German counterparts, such as Sodom, Destruction or Kreator. Possessed and maniacal, at times, the demonic voice accentuates the dark mood of the music, rather than detracting from it. As for the rest of the songwriting, this is like a war on the senses. Primitive and violent in nature, the riffs saw through you while the drums pound your skull into oblivion. It is almost difficult to believe something so bestial and grotesque existed back in 1984. The sound is on the same level as the “Death By Metal” demo, from Mantas, and makes the old Venom and Bathory records seem like they were done in high-dollar facilities.

Sons of Evil” is a monstrous offering from a band that had truly tapped into something dark and aggressive. Includes a booklet printed on old school fanzine styled light blue paper, with rare photos, flyers and excerpts from zines/mags of that era. If you’re like us a devoted follower of www.shit-fi.com you will definitely agree that this demo deserves a special mention there!

So one thing is sure: this LP is the matchless, best sounding version of “Sons of evil” you can dream about.  Now quoting what has been said already about this gem: as primitive and barbaric as a Stone Age gang-rape, this tape is possessed by total darkness and evil. This evokes the kind of hellish feeling that Venom feared to toy with and that Hellhammer simply was not capable of conjuring up. Musically, this runs the gamut from morbidly mid-paced to intense and somewhat insane. It bears no real similarities to any of their German counterparts, such as Sodom, Destruction or Kreator. The slower parts sound very reminiscent of Hellhammer, with one very important exception: this is darker and more evil than Mr. Warrior and his cohorts ever could have hoped to be. The vocals of Virgin Slaughter are exactly what Tom should have been doing on releases such as “Satanic Rites“. Possessed and maniacal, at times, his demonic voice actually accentuates the dark mood of the music, rather than detracting from it. As for the rest of the songwriting, this is like a war on the senses. Primitive and violent in nature, the riffs saw through you while the drums pound your skull into oblivion. It is almost difficult to believe something so bestial and grotesque existed back in 1984. Sons of Evil” is a monstrous offering from a band that had truly tapped into something dark and aggressive. This is what Hellhammer should have been striving for.  Includes a booklet printed on old school fanzine styled light blue paper, with rare photos, flyers and excerpts from zines/mags of that era. DISCHARGE “Live at the City Garden, New Jersey, 1983” gatefold LP out NOW!

Posted in Discharge, Releases on April 22nd, 2015 by foadmaster2022

A lot of bands have been described as “legendary” but very few of them really deserve that status. DISCHARGE is hands down among that bunch and the legacy they spawned is the best proof about it that can be shown. Discharge took punk music and pushed it to a new level, creating a sound that influenced a countless amount of musicians, from punk to metal and all through their most extreme branches. These pioneers delivered infamously rabid and furious live shows and we’re way more than proud to release one of them in a remastered edition that gives justice to the energy Discharge were able to create on stage. “Live at the City Garden New Jersey” is one of the most historically important releases on F.O.A.D. Records and we’re stoked to announce that it’s finally out and ready to ship!

Official reissue of this legendary live LP from the band’s golden days, originally released on Clay Records in 1989. A slab of pure rawness that captures these UK Punk icons in an intense, ultra-powerful performance during their legendary 2nd US tour (Northern USA and Canada) in fall 1983. As the original pressing says: “These recordings were taped on the sound desk on the night of the concert and although they may lack the technology of full studio recordings they nevertheless capture the live excitement of a Discharge gig and have been fully approved for release by the group“. In point of fact, this is raw, furious and totally out of control and together with “The nightmare continues” (the other Discharge’s official live album on Clay) it portrays in full effect these D-Beat generators at the top of their game. All their classic anthems are included: “Hear nothing, see nothing, say nothing“, “Never again“, “Protest and survive“, “The blood runs red“, “Decontrol” and so on.. And as for all F.O.A.D.‘s releases this has been mastered from the best sounding source in existence at Toxic Basement Studio, keeping the original sonic impact in its most genuine and uncontaminated form, just adding more balance to the instruments and that punch-in-the-face live feel that no band has ever topped.

Served in a thick glossy UV gatefold jacket: the outside is a detailed reproduction of the original sleeve, the inside and insert – all designed and assembled by Rich Militia of SORE THROAT – include a stunning collection of rare photos from that tour (and other shows of the same period), flyers and detailed liner notes. Quoting the ending paragraph: “Live At The City Garden New Jersey is one of the better recordings and performances of the band at this point, and no one can deny the power of tracks like “Anger burning” or “Born to die in the gutter”. They are beyond reproach in my opinion. This is the perfect epitaph to the band’s 1983-1984 period. Lovingly remastered for vinyl by those lunatics at F.O.A.D. Records, and with some finished packaging upgrades, this is not state control, this is Rock’n’Roll!!“. And wait, there’s more.. we have also added an accurate reproduction of the original poster of that tour!!

The die-hard edition has been completely sold-out at the speed of light on preorder, but the solid black one and the very last copies on clear vinyl are still available!

Limited edition on clear vinyl (150 copies)

Black vinyl edition (250 copies)

DISCHARGE “Live at the City Garden, New Jersey, 1983” gatefold LP pre-orders START NOW!!

Posted in Discharge, Pre Orders, Releases on April 8th, 2015 by foadmaster2022

Our release for April needs no extensive introductions.. it’s all said: we are ultra-stoked to announce a DISCHARGE LP on F.O.A.D. Records!!! When this label started and each of the current members got involved into it, our goal was to put out those bands/recordings that have meant something special for us through the years and shaped the backbone of our passion for all what’s fast, extreme, noisy… be it Hardcore, Metal or simply underground. But we would have never even dreamed to deal with those who started it all, the roots of so many different genres, a band that traced the beginning of a new era and a new way to play, think and (re)act.

Now, here it is: pre-orders for DISCHARGELive at the City Garden New Jersey” gatefold LP + poster are up NOW!! We’ll start to ship on April 21st 2015.

SORE THROAT “Unhindered by talent” gatefold LP and SORE THROAT “Death to capitalist Halmshaw” gatefold 2xLP (2nd pressing) out NOW!!

Posted in Releases, Sore Throat on March 27th, 2015 by foadmaster2022

The wait is over! Two horrendous nuclear arsenals have just been uncovered and are all set to annihilate your auditory system. SORE THROATUnhindered by talent” gatefold LP + poster and SORE THROATDeath to capitalist Halmshaw” gatefold 2xLP + poster (2nd pressing) are out now, and we are currently shipping all preorders.  There aren’t many copies left of the die-hard splatter vinyl editions, so act short+fast+loud if you want to catch one! As previously announced, this is FOAD‘s second installment in re-issuing ST’s complete discography, this time it’s the turn for their classic debut full length “Unhindered by talent” (1988) dusted off in a beautiful gatefold LP edition with bonus poster and extensive liner notes by Rich Militia. And there’s more, due to the high demand, we also decided to deliver you a new pressing of the previous “Death to capitalist Halmshaw” double gatefold LP with a different color sleeve and a new limited splatter version. Just like Switzerland’s noise masters FEAR OF GOD (of which we are gradually re-issuing the entire discography too), this is hands down one of our favourite bands so we have really concentrated all our efforts to provide the best sounding vinyl result and a great looking packaging, as these bands have pioneered the true spirit of extremity in whatever is fast and blasting in Metal/Punk, so they deserve all our respect and dedication.

More in detail about each release:

SORE THROAT “Unhindered by talent” gatefold LP (F.O.A.D. 079)

Housed in a thick reverseboard gatefold sleeve including lyrics and detailed liner notes by Rich Militia, enriched by a 2 sided A2 poster. Official reissue of one of the most influential and distinctive Grind/Punk/Noisecore albums of the late ’80s Britcore scene, and of all times too. 52 songs of cider-intoxicated aural butchery backed by a caustic sense of humor and savagely provocative lyrics attacking the HC scene of their time. To quote some reviews of when this came out: “SORE THROAT are the latest hell spawn of the ultracore thrash ”gurgling-gravel-in-a-sound-avalanche” school of thought”. “SORE THROAT are a music fan’s worst nightmare, 52 tracks that threaten to defy the very laws of nature, the ST sound is a thick, ugly mother that catches you like the swiftest blow to the stomach and leaves you feeling you’ve just gone 15 rounds with a runaway steamroller.

Originally released in 1988 after a few successful demos and the hyper-legendary “Death to capitalist Hardcore” 45 song EP, “Unhindered by talent” was the groundbreaking debut full length of UK’s most extreme Noise unit, alternating ultra-short detonating noise bursts to some solid 2-riffs/2-phrases HC/Punk anthems devoted to the Discharge/early Scandicore formula and also inevitably reminiscent of DOOM, with whom ST shared 2 members. Mastered from the best sounding source in existence for the fiercest possible sonic devastation on vinyl…“Unhindered by talent but we don’t give a fuck!

Available in two different versions:

DIE-HARD radioactive x-ray effect splatter vinyl limited to 100 copies

Solid black vinyl limited to 400 copies

============================

SORE THROAT “Death to capitalist Halmshaw” gatefold 2xLP (F.O.A.D. 061) 2nd pressing

2nd edition with green and black print on the gatefold sleeve and poster (instead of blue and black like the 1st). Double LP, 129 song monstrosity collecting all ST’s demos, their cult “Death to capitalist Hardcore” debut EP and an endless parade of rarities, comp. tracks and live recordings from 1987 to 1990. Old reviews used to describe Uk’s SORE THROAT as “Beyond almost anything you’ve ever heard… Even Extreme Noise Terror are scared of them… as palatable as cabbage boiled in fish urine“. Over 2 decades are gone but these pioneers of the most horrific alcohol-wrecked Noisecore/Grind ever conceived on the British soil still sound as the most nihilist and unsurpassed sonic aberration one can think of. And to be able to offer their noise in the most pristine form, closer to its primordial authenticity all what you will experience on this horrendous double platter has been scrupulously acquired from the original reels and tapes and mastered for vinyl with the maniacal attention of the widely-acclaimed Toxic Basement Studio, an absolute guarantee of passion and dedication for all what comes from the golden days of analog Hardcore/Thrash and Grind.

Comes in a thick gatefold sleeve printed on raw, uncoated reverse-board cardboard and includes a 2-sided A2 posters with an extensive collection of rare photos, flyers, zine excerpts and reviews. “Death to capitalist Halmshaw” was previously released on a limited edition CD by China’s Area Death Prod., this is the official re-issue on vinyl with 16 extra songs and a completely different/extended layout. Highly recommended to all enthusiasts of the early Grind/Noisecore era and the most extreme Britcore bands that have shaped and developed the genre. “Out of tune guitars with broken strings, unintelligible growls and smashed drum sticks“!!

Available in two different versions:

DIE-HARD green on white splattered vinyl, limited to 100 copies

Solid black vinyl limited to 300 copies
