If you thought that the last F.O.A.D. month was going to be the craziest of the year with 5 vinyl gems pitting ultra-underground bands from Japan and Colombia, you ain’t seen nothing yet… because what we’re going to introduce today is literally a mindblowing hardcore royal flush and with no doubt one of the most destructive (and exhausting for us) schedules of recent memory. Once again 5 x vinyl releases – 4 single LPs and 1 double LP – consisting of a deadly selection of raw and thrashing heavyweights from countries that have already been well tested territories for F.O.A.D.: Chile, Sweden, Italy and Brazil. From Chile, the highly acclaimed fuzzed out punks IGNORANTES, from Sweden two crucial hardcore punk glories: SOUND OF DISASTER and NYX NEGATIV, from Italy none other than our brothers RAW POWER with a fantastic extended edition of one of their greatest abums and… last but not least, the LP version of RATOS DE PORÃO‘s brand new thrash granade “Necropolítica” many of you have been asking and waiting for. So to sum it all up: IGNORANTESParece que tuvimos demasiados hijitos” LP, SOUND OF DISASTERVälfärd 1984-1985” LP,  NYX NEGATIVKalrshamns Punks 1981-1984” LP, RAW POWERMine to kill” Gatefold 2xLP and RATOS DE PORÃONecropolítica” Gatefold LP are all available on preorder via scareystore.com !!

Note: this month’s out now date will be slightly later than usual because we will be away for a week at the Obscene Extreme Festival, so it may happen that we’ll be a little slower than usual to ship preorders even if as you know we will do the impossible to do everything in time. If you’re coming to the Obscene Extreme Festival, consider that all 5 of these releases will be premiered there so you can directly get them at the F.O.A.D. booth in the Grind Market area, as usual you’ll also find an infinite choice of vinyl, CDs, tapes and t-shirts ranging from hardcore punk, grind and noisecore, metal of all sorts and everything you are dreaming of ultrafast and thrashing hard! For any enquiries and reservations you can contact us at foadrecords@gmail.com !! As usual we strongly recommend you to act fast if you want to catch the diehard colored vinyl versions of this new batch, they’re very limited and expected to go very quickly.

More in detail about each release:

IGNORANTES “Parece que tuvimos demasiados hijitos” LP (F.O.A.D. 260)

Raw, uncompromised nihilism from Chile’s premier fuzzed out hardcore punks! After multiple cassette only releases and 2 x 7″s here’s their first time on 12″… 13 tracks of snotty angry punk blending the simplistic in-your-face aggression of typical Latino-American taste with a noisy distorted approach recalling 80’s Japanese and British classics (Gai, Confuse, Chaos UK, Disorder). IGNORANTES stands above as one of the current gems of punk, their sound and attitude are totally spontaneous and out of the guts, without any ambition or intention. Quoting the singer Gabriel: “In the beginning we didn’t even try to go out and play. The idea was just to record once and that was it. Then we enjoyed the process of recording six or eight songs and that’s how it all started.” LP with large 6-panel foldout insert and lyric sheet.  Watch the trailer HERE

RAW POWER “Mine to kill” Gatefold 2xLP (F.O.A.D. 081)

Official reissue of RP’s iconic 4th album from 1989 adding as bonus LP the incredible lost&found 1st studio take (12 TRACKS!) recorded in Italy still with Helder on drums, available for the first time on vinyl! Another uppercut in the jaws showing RP at the top of the game crossovering their manic riff-oriented Hardcore with the most intense and raging Thrash assault. Together with the incredible masterpiece “Screams from the gutter” this is hands down the fastest and tightest delivery in the band’s discography of the first decade. As for all their previous releases on F.O.A.D., this has been scrupulously remastered from the 1st generation master at Toxic Basement studio, taking the original dynamics and sonic impact to the most powerful and energetic stage. As explained by the band: RAW POWER began the recording of “Mine to kill” in Italy, at Umbi Studio, and when it came to an end there were discussions about the final product. The decision to re-record the album in England with a different producer saw Helder leave, the one most satisfied with the work they had just ended, and having already had a brief live experience with the other boys, Fabiano Bianco (Bloody Riot / Raff) replaced him on drums. The fourth album came out and the previous version was trashed. The bonus LP added to this version was what would have been “Mine to kill” at the beginning, feeling like the first real attempt to change the style and understanding even more how the personalities within Raw Power differed between them, something that has always characterized the band from any other reality”. Of those 12 tracks, 4 are completely unreleased as they haven’t been re-recorded on the final version of the album, and they simply kill! Raw, aggressive and dizzyingly precise Hardcore from Italy’s most iconic band of the unforgettable “furious years“! Comes in a thick gatefold sleeve with insert including rare photos and flyers of that time. Watch the trailer HERE

Diehard splatter vinyl (purple on blue) limited to 150 copies

RATOS DE PORÃO “Necropolítica” Gatefold LP (F.O.A.D. 275)

The return of Brazil’s undisputed Thrash-Punk masters! 8 years after the acclaimed “Seculo sinistro“, RxDxPx are back with another slab of relentless, intense and socially engaged Crossover Thrash in their unmistakeable style, this time with a stronger-than-ever political message reflecting their absolute contempt against the authoritarian government that has plagued Brazil in recent years. Musically, with a career spanning through 5 decades, RATOS DE PORAO show no sign of weakening and reconfirm themselves as the absolute champions of South American Hardcore! 10 songs full of Metal and Punk mayhem keeping it fresh and dynamic at the same time, led by Jao’s manic riffing and Gordo’s massive, vitriolic shouts of rage. With no doubts the world’s most famous basement rats have nailed it another time with a devastating album, still sounding exciting and relevant, which is an amazing achievement in Punk that most other bands of that age can’t claim! Housed in a full glossy gatefold jacket with 12″x12″ booklet.  Watch the trailer HERE

Posted in Agressor, Alkaloid, Hell Bound, Pre Orders, Releases, Sacrilegio on June 6th, 2022 by foadmaster2022

No long introductions this time because we have no less than 5 releases (!!) to announce and therefore we prefer to give space to detailed descriptions of each. As many of you know, it’s in the multifaceted spirit of F.O.A.D. Records to cover a wide range of different genres, still staying within strictly underground territories. You got the month all dedicated to noisecore, the one all centered on death metal, the one all about Japanese hardcore… to the last round – mostly dedicated to 80’s American hardcore. This month’s choice is peculiar: we decided to put together the reissues of 3 rare Japanese heavy metal demos all to be discovered (ALKALOID and two separated recordings by HELL BOUND) and 2 seminal bands that pioneered the so called “ultra metal” scene of Medellin, Colombia (AGRESSOR and SACRILEGIO). If you’re wondering what “Ultra Metal” means: well, it’s a savage assault of the rawest death/thrash backed by a true hardcore spirit and raised in a social background of violence and desperation. Two countries very far from each other but with one point in common: when it comes to metal and punk they never disappoint, in terms of intensity, originality and attitude they are a totally unique world apart that still hides an infinity of gems to be unearthed and brought to light with passion and dedication.

So our recipe for June consists of: ALKALOIDInvisible world” LP, HELL BOUNDDemo 1986” LP+CD, HELL BOUNDNorwegian forest” LP+CD, AGRESSORLlamas de muerte – The complete ultra-sessions 1986/1987” gatefold 2xLP and SACRILEGIOPodredumbre” LP! They’re all available on preorder via scareystore.com and as usual we strongly recommend you to act fast if you want to catch the diehard colored vinyl versions as they are very limited and expected to sell out very quickly. We have set the release date on June 20th because shortly after we’ll start announcing what we have in the pipeline for July, which is equally sick! Please read the following detailed reviews to understand more about the bands and the contents of each release:

ALKALOID “Invisible world” LP (F.O.A.D. 262)

TOTAL CULT 80’s JAPANESE HEAVY METAL! Founded in the mid 80’s by members of Tokyo’s X-RAY, ALKALOID is a highly revered name in the pioneering scene that helped defining the sound and visual style of Japanese Metal. Some additional links: vocalist Angel later joined Sapporo’s SABER TIGER, the later drummer Hachi also played in GENOCIDE NIPPON. This LP is the official reissue of their classic debut demotape “Invisible world” (1986) enriched by the lost and found “Trajectory” studio session 1986. Sourced from the band’s masters and from the only existing copy of “Trajectory“, mastered with painstaking dedication at Toxic Basement Studio. Hunting vocals, scorching solos and pure energy are the ingredients of this super-catchy record… If you enjoyed other F.O.A.D. reissues of this kind (Q.O.P., PLAZMA X) look no further, this will definitely make your day! Includes full colored 12 page booklet loaded with rare photos, memorabilia and scans of the original cassette. Watch the trailer HERE

HELL BOUND “Demo 1986” LP+CD (F.O.A.D. 248)

..another journey through the vaults of the most incredible underground rarities! A mysterious and totally undiscovered jewel of 80’s Japanese Metal from the Hokuriku area only known in the most diehard circles of tape-trading maniacs. This “Demo 1986” collection is all focused on their early recordings, blending a NWOBHM influenced approach with some serious Sortilège worship and a speed metal touch. It includes the following works: debut demotape 1986 and 2 unreleased studio tracks 1987. Links: their drummer Yano Angel later joined the rocking hardcore punk unit called BLANQUISME known for a demo and a 7″ (1989).  LP with OBI strip, bonus CD with extended contents and a stunning 16 page booklet full of photos and scans of the rare original demotape. Disclaimer: just as for many other Japanese Metal bands of that era (Rommel, Mein Kampf, Rosenfeld etc…) you will notice a recurring use of controversial symbols in the band’s photos and artworks. Quoting HELL BOUND themselves: “In the 80’s Japanese scene it was mostly used to enhance the shocking factor without any political references. Some of you may also find some connection to this imagery in our lyrics: actually, we were trying to express our contempt towards the mistakes made by the Nazis, but our English was poor and easily misunderstood. Later on we stopped using those symbols in our artworks because we thought it was wrong, despite the shocking value. We are firmly opposed Nazism and any form of discrimination.” Watch the trailer HERE

HELL BOUND “Norwegian forest” LP+CD (F.O.A.D. 249)

In conjunction with the reissue of their “Demo 1986” on LP, it was mandatory to also provide the deserved F.O.A.D. treatment to “Norwegian forest“, the band’s final opus from 1989, considered as their full length album but only released on a very limited cassette version up to now… If their previous recordings were leaning towards a NWOBHM influenced sound often pushing the boundaries to speed metal gallops, “Norwegian forest” shows their style progressing to more gloomy and occult territories, sounding like the perfect hell-match between Mercyful Fate inspired atmospheres and the intensity of traditional Japanese heavy metal! Powered by a solid production and the outstanding vocals of Junichi Mori, “Norwegian forest” is a flawless hidden gem of 80’s Rising Sun heavy metal all to be discovered.  This special F.O.A.D. version includes the complete “Norwegian forest” studio session for the first time on vinyl and a bonus CD with extended contents (7x additional live tracks). LP with OBI strip, 12 page booklet full of photos and scans of the rare original demotape. Watch the trailer HERE

SACRILEGIO “Podredumbre 1986-1988” LP (F.O.A.D. 242)

…another sonic bestiality forged in the violent streets of MedellIn, Colombia in the 80’s!! Formed in 1984 by vocalist Carlos Mario Montoya “El vikingo” (also member of NEKROMANTIE) who was assassinated in 1988, SACRILEGIO were undoubtedly one of the most important names in the early Ultra Metal scene of the Antioquian region. Quoting the biography included in this anthology: “They were influenced by Metal/Hardcore classics of the time, such as PARABELLUM, HELLHAMMER, SLAYER and SNOBB SLAKT (Swedish Hardcore)“. This gives a better idea of their style, a primitive and rough crossover of early day death/thrash with a touch of 80’s hardcore in the crudest form. In the works for more than 4 years, “Podredumbre 1986-1988” is the most exhaustive collection of all their existing recordings, assembled under supervision of the band’s late guitarist Antonio Guerrero (also founder of Agressor and Masacre).  10 songs consisting of: audition session for “Rodrigo D. No futuro” and demo 1986-1987, final recording for the soundtrack of “Rodrigo D. No futuro” (1988), live at Acción Comunal del barrio Alfonso López Castilla, 1987. As explained by the band, SACRILEGIO‘s anthem “Podredumbre” was only included in the soundtrack of the movie “Rodrigo D.” but not on the 1990’s compilation LP featuring most of the bands that were invited to take part to that project. This LP also includes a 12 page booklet full of never seen before photos, flyers and an interesting biography written with the help of Antonio Guerrero. An absolute must have for fans of the most infernal South American death thrash and raw, unpolished 80’s metal punk in general! Watch the trailer HERE

AGRESSOR “Llamas de muerte – The complete ultra-sessions 1986/1987” gatefold 2xLP (F.O.A.D. 239)

After reissuing Colombian underground milestones such as Blasfemia, Restos De Tragedia and the iconic “Estamos en la sima” compilation, F.O.A.D. is back to digging into the obscure roots of the legendary Ultra Metal scene born in Medellín in the mid ’80s. This time it’s the turn of AGRESSOR, a pioneering, extremely raw unit delivering the ugly, barbaric sounds that were peculiar to that area and were portraying a nightmarish reality of crimes, drugs and misery. As some say “It’s not Metal, it’s not Hardcore… it’s ULTRA METAL“. Double LP anthology collecting all their 80’s recordings, consisting of:  “Ensayo 1986” (early demo), recordings for “Rodrigo D. No Futuro” (1987), complete session at “Estudio Tiempos Modernos” (1987), live at Aeropuerto “Olaya Herrera“, 1987. Gatefold sleeve with rare photos, flyers and a detailed history (in Spanish and English) written in collaboration with the band’s guitarist Antonio Guerrero, explaining how – with the shittiest equipment and instruments – he managed to achieve that crude primitive sound that characterized not only Agressor but also other bands he was in (Sacrilegio and Masacre) and inspired hordes of death thrashin’ maniacs all over the world. Sheer caveman brutality channelled through the rawest Metal ever created! Watch the trailer HERE

Posted in Pre Orders, Releases, Riverge, Semetary, Zigai on January 21st, 2022 by foadmaster2022

We had promised to start the year with a blast and here we are to reveal what it was all about, with the only flaw that we were ready to make this announcement much earlier but as it’s happening more and more often in recent times, a completely unexpected delay from the pressing plant messed up our plans a bit. Nevertheless, we are almost in the pipeline and therefore let’s get straight to the point: it’s no longer necessary to say that F.O.A.D. Records has a very strong bond with Japan and that over the years we have unearthed many underground gems from this amazing country, so once again we return to explore the boundless and mysterious meanders of an inexhaustible scene with an infinity interesting material (both past and present) yet to be discovered.

For this round of releases, we have chosen 3 bands, two of them are totally on the traditional Japancore front: we’re talking of Shizuoka’s HC psychos SEMETARY of which we’re honored to deliver a complete 32 song discography 1988-1992, then the shortly lived Kyushu Hardcore Punk revelation called ZIGAI whose period of existence takes us back to much less distant times (2016-2017), while the third is one of Osaka’s pioneering Thrash legends, RIVERGE – here with a feverishly exhaustive anthology of their early rare recordings from 1985 to 1988. To sum things up, this month’s recipe on F.O.A.D. Records consists of: SEMETARYNo runaway – Complete discography 1989-1992” 2xLP+CD, RIVERGEStand in fear of nothing – Early years discography” 3xLP+CD and ZIGAIs/t” gatefold LP!!

SEKUNDA “s/t discography” trifold LP, HEDGE HOG “Never die” LP and EX-KOMBRO “Alambres y barrotes” LP preorders start NOW!!

Posted in Ex-Kombro, Hedge Hog, Pre Orders, Releases, Sekunda on October 25th, 2021 by foadmaster2022

After delivering one of the heaviest F.O.A.D. boxsets to date both in terms of weight and musical/visual content – the monolithic BULLDOZERRide hard – Die fast” anthology that was sold out in less than 1 month – we’re back on focusing on some of the rawest and most uncompromised Hardcore/Punk, choosing 3 bands respectively from 3 different continents and quite different time frames. Europe, Asia, South America or to go more in detail Finland, Japan and Colombia – 3 countries that are highly revered by those looking for the fastest, angriest and most genuine stuff around when it comes to mindblowing thrash.

The most anticipated of the tryptic is obviously SEKUNDA – after being in the works for years. Can you believe it? A total discography by Finland’s sloppiest, most chaotic and untalented Noise Punks of all eras. Quoting the band:  “3 decades, 100 tracks, 3 albums.. not a single track is omitted“! Then to the land of the rising sun (this is FOAD’s 38th Japanese release!) we have chosen something for true connoisseurs, you can’t dig into obscurities deeper than this: HEDGE HOG, a rabid fast Hardcore combo only known for taking part to a “Bondage maniac” compilation tape and for playing a few gigs in the early ’90s, but of course of very high thrashing levels… and then Medellin – another well tested area if you’re not new to F.O.A.D.‘s sonic crimes: going backwards through our releases you will find the cult compilation “Estamos en la sima“, the cacophonic Hardcore veterans Restos De Tragedia and the Ultra-Metal icons Blasfemia. Now it’s the turn of EX-KOMBRO, a killer mid ’90s act known for two raw and catchy 7″s and few compilation tracks. It was about time to put everything together on a proper discography LP adding unreleased material.

So, to sum it all up:   SEKUNDAs/t discography” trifold LP, HEDGE HOGNever die” LP and EX-KOMBROAlambres y barrotes” LP on F.O.A.D. Records are up for preorders via scareystore.com !!  We will never tire of repeating the same story: act fast if you want to catch the limited diehard versions, they definitely won’t last long before they’re sold out! Tentative release date for these is November 3rd even if it hasn’t yet been confirmed by the pressing plant, please be patient, you know we do our best to get your order to its destination as soon as possible.

There’s no end in the tunnel of thrashing obscurities deep in the F.O.A.D.’s crypts… can you find something more obscure than this?? Known only for their appearance on the “Bondage Maniac” Vol. 1 compilation tape and few gigs in the early ’90s here’s the official reissue of HEDGE HOG‘s totally invisible demotape “Never die” + compilation tracks + 3 unreleased tunes, all recorded in 1992! HEDGE HOG (not to be confused with Hamamatsu’s Hedge Hog, also playing HC!) belong to the great generation of unsung heroes from the Bondage Maniac stables that also featured incredible gems like Slaver, Inject Brain, Scum Blast, Soltic, Warsaw and more ultra-rabid thrashers that never got the deserved recognition. Musically this is fast, incendiary Hardcore in a pure traditional Japanese way… for fans of Outo, Systematic Death, Mad Conflux and Lipcream

Here we are! This month marks our return full steam ahead on vinyl production for what’s going to be a very busy season with many bone-crushing releases, barring other unforeseen and unexpected interruptions. And we get back on track with a little-great personal best… because what we are about to announce is the most gigantic F.O.A.D. release to date, both in terms of number of records included and weight… 3.2 Kg! It’s now been 8 years since our blood pact with this band was drawn, we started by bringing to light the lost in vaults demo 1984 “The exorcism“, and over time we reissued a good part of their discography. You got it, we are talking about BULLDOZER, a timeless myth in the firmament of wickest Italian Metal! And what we are about to release consecrates our bond with this band and comes as the definitive chapter of our partnership with them. We are pleased to announce “Ride hard – Die fast“, a boxset containing no less than 7xLPs (!!) and a huge booklet, the most complete and maniacal anthology covering the time frame that starts from the above mentioned demo and “Fallen angel” 7″ (1984) to 1990, the year when “Alive… in Poland” was first published.

It took a long time to put this beast together and we’ve put all our enthusiasm and dedication on it. So, preorders for BULLDOZERRide hard – Die fast” Boxset are up NOW!! The diehard edition limited to 100 comes with a 9″ high stainless steel inverted cross with engraved Bulldozer’s logo and has each LP on a special super-marble color setting. Don’t sleep on it because it’s expected to sell out very quick! Furthermore, pay attention to the fact that we are also putting the test pressing in pre-order, it comes in a special customized box, hand-numbered… at the moment there are less than 15 left counting those going to the band and those reserved by close friends.

Vinile trasparente fumé (180 grammi) limitato a 200 copie

Vinile grigio marmorizzato (180 grammi) limitato a 100 copie

SKRUIGNERS “Finalmente vi odio davvero” LP (F.O.A.D. 223)

Vinile marmorizzato bianco/blu (180 grammi) limitato a 200 copie

Vinile azzurro (180 grammi) limitato a 100 copie

Edizione diehard in vinile bronzo (180 grammi) limitata a 100 copie

Vinile nero (180 grammi) limitato a 200 copie

This month on F.O.A.D. Records is all dedicated to Italian Hardcore, with the longly awaited LP reissues of two classic albums by the SKRUIGNERS: “Grazie di tutto” and “Finalmente vi odio davvero“, both never pressed on vinyl up to now, and the complete discography of a pioneering 80’s brigade: BLAXFEMAUrla di dolore 1984-1986” LP+CD, that gives the deserved quality treatment to their cult Demotape “Menes” and adds a completely unreleased soundboard session ’85-86 with never-heard-before tracks and covers of Minor Threat and Black Flag.  More details in the descripitions below. The official release date for these 3 is set for May 22, as usual – act fast for the most limited versions!

SKRUIGNERS “Grazie di tutto” LP (F.O.A.D. 222)

An unmatched 90’s Italian Hardcore classic for the first time on vinyl!  Formed in 1996 not far from Milano, SKRUIGNERS have somehow slipped under the radar not being much recognized by the international HC community, although at the same time in Italy through their 15-year career they have always packed all kind of venues and squats with hundreds of punks stagediving and singing along each of their anthems word by word. Their style takes the renewed adrenalinic approach of the best contemporary HC of their time (above Torino’s bands like early Crunch, Belli-Cosi and Arturo) also paying attention to the ’80s school of pioneering legends like Declino, Impact, Crash Box etc.. evolving it with a personal touch – at times spiced up with a Punk Rock vibe, yet keeping it always fast, young and rageful.  “Grazie di tutto” is their second full length, recorded in 1999 and originally published on CD only by Tube Records. Here you get it for the first time on LP (180 grams), specially mastered for vinyl for the most powerful sonic impact, coming with a booklet that includes lyrics and photos of that time. Watch the trailer HERE

Available in the following versions:

Smokey clear vinyl (180 grams) limited to 200

Marble grey vinyl (180 grams) limited to 100

SKRUIGNERS “Finalmente vi odio davvero” LP (F.O.A.D. 223)

The band’s iconic third full length for the first time on vinyl!  18 songs of rapid, no frills Italian Hardcore – the album that consolidated their style based on energy, sincerity, rage, and estabilished them as one of the Italian HC acts with the largest fanbase in their country. Evolving the formula adopted on previous works, “Finalmente vi odio davvero” (2001) combines the best of ’90s Hardcore (think of early Crunch and Arturo) with the roots coming from furious Italian HC pioneers (as a matter of fact here you’ll also find a cover of DECLINO‘s “Mortale tristezza“).  Even if they never reached the deserved recognition abroad, each track on this record is a memory of completely sold out venues and bloody pits of punks stagediving and singin’ along.  Pressed on 180 gram vinyl, specially mastered for the most powerful sonic impact, including a booklet with lyrics and photos of that time.  Watch the trailer HERE

Available in the following versions:

Marble blue/white vinyl (180 grams) limited to 200

Light blue vinyl (180 grams) limited to 100

BLAXFEMA “Urla di dolore 1984-1986” LP+CD (F.O.A.D. 229)

Another incredible Italian Hardcore gem from the “furious years” not to be missed… Founded in fall 1984 on the ashes of WRONG BOYS (that have also been reissued on F.O.A.D. recently), BLAXFEMA continued along the same path delivering fast, angry and political Hardcore. This complete discography includes their classic “Menes” Demotape 1985 straight from the reels and a never-heard-before soundboard live/rehearsal that shows them at the top of their game!!  24 TRACKS of sincere, crucial Hardcore recommended if you also like INFEZIONE, DECLINO, IMPACT and early European thrashing HC in general.  Pressed on 180 gram vinyl, comes with a full colored photo insert and a fanzine styled booklet with liner notes, rare flyers, scans of the original tapes, Virus related press pages, extra artworks and a lot more!!
