Our release for April needs no extensive introductions.. it’s all said: we are ultra-stoked to announce a DISCHARGE LP on F.O.A.D. Records!!! When this label started and each of the current members got involved into it, our goal was to put out those bands/recordings that have meant something special for us through the years and shaped the backbone of our passion for all what’s fast, extreme, noisy… be it Hardcore, Metal or simply underground. But we would have never even dreamed to deal with those who started it all, the roots of so many different genres, a band that traced the beginning of a new era and a new way to play, think and (re)act.

Official reissue of this legendary live LP from the band’s golden days, originally released on Clay Records in 1989. A slab of pure rawness that captures these UK Punk icons in an intense, ultra-powerful performance during their legendary 2nd US tour (Northern USA and Canada) in fall 1983. As the original pressing says: “These recordings were taped on the sound desk on the night of the concert and although they may lack the technology of full studio recordings they nevertheless capture the live excitement of a Discharge gig and have been fully approved for release by the group“. In point of fact, this is raw, furious and totally out of control and together with “The nightmare continues” (the other Discharge’s official live album on Clay) it portrays in full effect these D-Beat generators at the top of their game. All their classic anthems are included: “Hear nothing, see nothing, say nothing“, “Never again“, “Protest and survive“, “The blood runs red“, “Decontrol” and so on.. And as for all F.O.A.D.‘s releases this has been mastered from the best sounding source in existence at Toxic Basement Studio, keeping the original sonic impact in its most genuine and uncontaminated form, just adding more balance to the instruments and that punch-in-the-face live feel that no band has ever topped.

Served in a thick glossy UV gatefold jacket: the outside is a detailed reproduction of the original sleeve, the inside and insert – all designed and assembled by Rich Militia of SORE THROAT – include a stunning collection of rare photos from that tour (and other shows of the same period), flyers and detailed liner notes. Quoting the ending paragraph: “Live At The City Garden New Jersey is one of the better recordings and performances of the band at this point, and no one can deny the power of tracks like “Anger burning” or “Born to die in the gutter”. They are beyond reproach in my opinion. This is the perfect epitaph to the band’s 1983-1984 period. Lovingly remastered for vinyl by those lunatics at F.O.A.D. And there’s more, due to the high demand, we also decided to deliver you a new pressing of the previous “Death to capitalist Halmshaw” double gatefold LP with a different color sleeve and a new limited splatter version. Just like Switzerland’s noise masters FEAR OF GOD (of which we are gradually re-issuing the entire discography too), this is hands down one of our favourite bands so we have really concentrated all our efforts to provide the best sounding vinyl result and a great looking packaging, as these bands have pioneered the true spirit of extremity in whatever is fast and blasting in Metal/Punk, so they deserve all our respect and dedication. Housed in a thick reverseboard gatefold sleeve including lyrics and detailed liner notes by Rich Militia, enriched by a 2 sided A2 poster. Official reissue of one of the most influential and distinctive Grind/Punk/Noisecore albums of the late ’80s Britcore scene, and of all times too. 52 songs of cider-intoxicated aural butchery backed by a caustic sense of humor and savagely provocative lyrics attacking the HC scene of their time.

2nd edition with green and black print on the gatefold sleeve and poster (instead of blue and black like the 1st). Double LP, 129 song monstrosity collecting all ST’s demos, their cult “Death to capitalist Hardcore” debut EP and an endless parade of rarities, comp. tracks and live recordings from 1987 to 1990. Old reviews used to describe Uk’s SORE THROAT as “Beyond almost anything you’ve ever heard… Even Extreme Noise Terror are scared of them… as palatable as cabbage boiled in fish urine“.

Are you ready for a new chapter in the Cryptic Slaughter + FOAD legacy? After giving the right treatment to their legendary “Life in grave” demotape with a special vinyl version including tons of bonus material, it was about time to unite forces again and bring to light a new classic of our favourite California’s thrashing Speed-core pioneers. So we have decided to focus on their 3rd classic full length, their final release before splitting up and reforming again with new members, “Stream of consciousness” originally released in 1988 by Death Records/Metal Blade and never re-issued until then.

We did everything possible to improve the sound with a special mastering for vinyl by our sound wizard H.o.D. at Toxic Basement Studio, adding a lot of aggression to the drums and guitar… One thing is sure: you have never heard “Stream..” sound so crisp as on this version! And to make the package even more outstanding we have added 1 full LP of extra tracks, featuring their complete pre-production session (that is even faster and rawer!) made few days before they entered the studio to record the album + 2 rare rehearsal songs 1987 one of which sees Rob and Bill trading off vocals!

Another Thrashcore milestone on FOAD!!! After unleashing top-quality gems like Wehrmacht, Cryptic Slaughter, Ludichrist, SOD, Crumbsuckers it was about time to brush up another seminal name considered one of the strongest and most influential roots of the Californian HC scene: ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT! Before reaching a cult status with an incredible debut full length such as “American paraonoia” they did an equally groundbreaking Demo, “Dead serious” – consisting of 10 rapid-fire bursts of fast and furious Hardcore. Quoting our friend Eric / goodbamusic.com: “ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT came out of the blue with this one. They sent out the demo tape to a lot of international fanzines and radio stations and got very popular immediately. Everybody was blown away – rarely had there been a genuine blend of the best elements of both Hardcore and Metal, played with such passion. The joy is literally bleeding through within every note, yet all the songs have a fascinating melodramatic atmosphere. By the way, this was recorded at the infamous “Turk Street Studios” where EXODUS also had recorded a demo tape. If said EXODUS demo only had the sound this one has …”

– BRAINSTORM “Only the dead see the end of the war (1989)” LP

Limited edition of 300 copies on transparent blue vinyl with side-B silkscreened. Official reissue on vinyl of BRAINSTORM‘s debut Demotape “Only the dead see the end of the war” (1989). Among the multitude of cult demos worshipped by the most dogged tape-traders back in the day, this little treasure from former Yugoslavia has always been a highlight here between the FOAD’s ranks. Their style was perfectly settled in the growing Grind/Britcore extremity that was exploding those years thanks to early releases of labels like Earache, Peaceville and Manic Ears. BRAINSTORM was totally devoted to that formula, delivering a manic raw barrage of Grinding HC with a massive dose of riff-oriented Thrashcore catchiness. It reminds of DOOM, UNSEEN TERROR, DEVIATED INSTINCT, HERESY, “Scum”-era NAPALM DEATH and other pioneers of that scene. This link was consolidated by the fact that the singer of the band lived in the UK for a long period those years, attending that scene and bands like DOOM.

Besides their devastating musical approach BRAINSTORM were a strongly political band with lyrics that were highly focused on their country’s social background, anticipating with their anti-war message the inner conflict that dismembered Yugoslavia in the years that followed. Mastered from the original reels at Toxic Basement studio with meticulous care for the best possible sounding result, “Only the dead see the end of the war” comes back to life in its most dynamic and powerful version ever. After releasing the highly acclaimed digipack CD version that got a really positive response both by the fans and the press, it was about time to give to Italy’s most violent and controversial Grind/HC album of all times a proper vinyl treatment.  If you thought that the recently unleashed TERRORIZER “Before the downfall” double gatefold LP was FOAD’s most stylish production of 2014, you still haven’t coped with this ingot-weighing madness…

If the original first pressing had that sick and dark visual feeling due to the maniacal use of 70s Italian artworks from crime/giallo movies of cult underground directors, this new edition emphasizes it even more thanks to the astonishing job of View From The Coffin: starting from the idea of old hectographed posters and mags with a color scale fading into another, the inner gatefold and booklet will sink you into an insane dimension of words, colors and graphics all strictly related to that 70s style that influenced C.B. so much back when this album was conceived. And now to the music: deluxe redux re-issue of Italy’s most classic Grindcore album ever. This has been in the works for years due to enormous difficulties in transfering the original reels that were on a very rare (and unplayable) format. Restored, remixed and remastered with feverish care at Toxic Basement Studio under constant supervision of the band, to keep the original rawness and rage completely intact and utterly reinforced. Originally released in 2000, “Misantropo a senso unico” is an incredible outburst of hyperfast hate-fueled Grindcore rooted in the most furious and violent 80s Italian Hardcore. 16 songs of manic speed scream-out-lungs hatred at its most nihilistic form, the band’s absolute manifesto. UK’s Terrorizer Mag quoted it as nr. 6 of the most essential Grindcore albums of all times. This monsterwork starts off with “Collapse“, a completely unreleased song from the “World downfall” studio session unearthed from the band’s secret archives.. next is an alternative take of their split tape with NAUSEA (1988) that sounds like machine-gun fire in the face and then you can enjoy all their existing demos and early works in astonishingly great sound quality, mastered with total audiophile passion from the best sounding sources in existence!! Some of these recordings are the reason why Shane Embury of Napalm Death back in his tape-trading days got completely crazy for them and persuaded Earache to sign them and bring to light “World downfall” (when the band was already on hiatus). “Countless blast warriors still strive for this classic sound and catchy song structure, but no one can match it on Oscar Garcia’s pitch(less) caveman growl!
