ATROX “Hardcore against repression 1985-1988” LP + CD and D.P.C.D. “Confidencial + Demo” LP: preorders start NOW!!

Posted in Atrox, D.P.C.D., Pre Orders, Releases on April 9th, 2019 by foadmaster2022

Ready for some new outrages on vinyl on F.O.A.D. Records?  You know that we like to keep a big variety of underground genres in our schedule, so if the last month was an all out assault of Blurr / Noisecore terror (Crawl Noise) and pioneering Black/Death morbidity (Poison), now we’re heading back to total Hardcore / Punk territories. Those who have been following our releases since some years know that F.O.A.D. is highly specialized in bringing back to light the true gems of the first wave of Italian Hardcore, you’ve seen it with Raw Power, Upset Noise, Underage, Crash Box, Declino, Peggio Punx, Nerorgasmo and many more. The band that we’re introducing this time was formed in Milano (the city of Wretched, Kobra and more) in the ’80s and their early recordings were a highly energetic concentrate of speed, rage and catchy riffs. We’re talking of ATROX!  We decided to put together all their 1985-1988 recordings, that since now were only released on tape back in the day, the most being very limited and hard to find. This “Hardcore against repression 1985-1988” LP+CD collection includes them all for a total of 46 songs, the LP compiling the two studio demos and the CD all their live stuff + some unreleased rehearsals. Plus an extensive fanzine styled booklet with all the original artworks, lyrics, photos and more. In few words, the definitive ATROX ’80s anthology collecting all their recordings before their debut LP “Fiori neri“.

The second announcement is something completely different… and somehow a great revelations coming out of our constant work of listening to hundreds of demos from every corner of the globe, hunting obscurities, giving a chance to even the most remote cassette. From the day that we discovered the almighty Chilean label Tobi Records, we became obsessed in collecting their fantastic releases. Out of their roster of a multitude of good bands (that we strongly recommend you to check out and support), one of our favorite finds was hands down D.P.C.D. (Deceso Por Causa Desconocida). Their demo has all the elements that we wish to hear from a good Latino/American Hardcore band: rage, distortion and at the top of it a very sinister Dark Rock mood enriched by an excellent vocal line in Spanish. D.P.C.D. is a great new revelation and deserves to be heard. Follow the advice of a team of maniacs listening piles of demos every day, this one really drove us crazy, it never lets you down from start to finish, it kills!   So… ATROXHardcore against repression 1985-1988” LP+CD and D.P.C.D. “Confidencial + Demo” LP are up for preorders, release date set for April 22nd 2019. Both are limited to 300 with some swirl vinyl diehard editions ltd. to 100 that as with all F.O.A.D. releases won’t last for long.. be fast!

More in detail about each release:

ATROX “Hardcore against repression 1985-1988” LP+CD (F.O.A.D. 154)

ATROX started in Milano, Italy in the early ’80s and were part of the legendary “furious years“, the first wave of bands delivering that fast and raging style that became a distinctive trademark for Italian Hardcore / Punk and that saw bands like Wretched, Indigesti, Peggio Punx, Impact, Negazione, Declino, Raw Power, CCM, Bloody Riot as the main exponents of that era. ATROX were playing a full on speed yet catchy Hardcore… listening to their early sounds you can discern influences from US bands like Dead Kennedys, M.D.C., early D.R.I. however with a very strong Italian Punk imprint, not far from what bands like Crash Box and Peggio Punx were doing at the same time. This collection includes all their existing recordings spanning from 1985 to 1989, prior to their debut full length “Fiori neri“. This means all their hard to find cassettes: “Senza tregua” (1985), “Orme perdute” (1986), “Aldo moro lived HC” (1988), the ultra-rare “Live at Concobeach” tape 1986 ltd. to less than 30 copies (!) and some totally unreleased rehearsals.

46 songs drawing a complete overview of their roots. LP including their two studio demos and bonus CD compiling both live tapes and the unreleased rehearsals. All mastered from 1/4″ reels and 1st generation tapes provided by the band. Comes with a fanzine styled A4 booklet all the original artworks and inserts from the tapes included, photos, lyrics and more. Highly recommended for those into the best days of Italian Hardcore and ’80s HC maniacs in general. Click HERE for a little preview!

D.P.C.D. “Confidencial + Demo” LP (F.O.A.D. 166)

D.P.C.D. stands for DECESO POR CAUSA DESCONOCIDA. This incredible band hails from Chile, a country whose Hardcore / Punk scene isn’t much under the international spotlights but is currently very active and vital and hides a lot of interesting revelations and DIY labels like Tobi Records releasing gems to be discovered.  D.P.C.D. play a perfect blend of South American Punk / Hardcore and dark-soaked DeathRock.

The energy and distortion of the most genuine 80’s inspired Hardcore channeled through sinister Dark Punk atmospheres, we dare to say  like a Chilean answer to NERORGASMO!  This LP includes a brand new session called “Confidencial” and a remastered version of their amazing Demo 2016 that made the F.O.A.D. Records team fall in love with their sound and offer them this debut on LP. An absolute must if you like LatinoAmerican Punk of all eras played with intensity, sincerity and full-throttle anger! Come with lyrics/photos insert. Click HERE for a little preview!

CRAWL NOISE “Wall of Noisecore” LP and POISON “Into the abyss – resurrected” LP+CD: preorders start NOW!!

Posted in Crawl Noise, Poison, Pre Orders, Releases on March 12th, 2019 by foadmaster2022

After the surprise blitz with the ultra-limited Grimcorpses and Sidetracked EPs (sold out in minutes) here we are again, ready to announce 2 more releases for this month. As many of you know, FOAD Records has a long tradition in putting out the most extreme and cacophonous Noise/Grind detonators, just think of bands like Tumor, V.N.A., Sore Throat, 7 Minutes Of Nausea, Fear Of God, Noise, early Cripple Bastards and so on.. So when Patrick from CRAWL NOISE contacted us asking if we would have liked the idea of putting out a total CN discography, we obviously flew off the desk accepting without second thoughts. Not many labels around would dare to do something like this, but we grew up listening to this horrifying barrage of “musical rape“, so we’re proud to make it happen.

And what about the other LP scheduled for this announcement? Nothing else but POISON. If you think that after doing all their demos on single LPs and then the massive “Hoelle und vernichtung” boxset all cards have been played you’ll be surprised by this. Few months ago Uli “Angel Of Death” Hildenbrand contacted us explaining that he had just found a tape including a great sounding reel-to-tape transfer of the classic “Into the abyss” album (originally recorded in 1987), so we compared it to all the previous re-editions and this one is with no doubt the real deal, it totally rips! So we agreed about a final, top sounding (well we can’t say “audiophile” for Poison!) LP version of “Into the abyss” as we consider it a timeless masterpiece of true pioneering Black / Death Metal, and it completely deserves to be rediscovered and appreciated in the sound quality as faithful as possible to how it was conceived at the time.

So preorders for CRAWL NOISEWall of Noisecore 1987/1989” LP and POISONInto the abyss – Resurrected” LP+CD are up now. There are some limited editions on swirl and splatter vinyl, only 100 copies x each release… you know what to do! Also, in conjunction with these releases we have just printed some official POISON tshirts, they are limited and we’re not planning to keep them in stock after selling out this first run, so better act fast!

More in detail about each release:

CRAWL NOISE “Wall of noisecore” LP (F.O.A.D. 158)

Get ready for a merciless audio slaughter and ruin your turntable needle forever!! CRAWL NOISE were a terrorizing Swiss unit that decimated eardrums in that late 80’s phase (1987 to 1989) when Grindcore was starting to spread all around and some maniacs tried to push the genre to even fiercer extremes, giving birth to the whole short-song Noisecore saga of bands like 7 MINUTES OF NAUSEA, ANAL CUNT, VIOLENT NOISE ATTACK, STENCH OF CORPSE, SOUND POLLUTION, TUMOR and so on. CRAWL NOISE were clearly inspired by early NAPALM DEATH and SORE THROAT, but they pushed the level of madness and brutality to way more devastating boundaries. And their drummer Osi was then called to join the mighty FEAR OF GOD, so try to imagine how fast he was. As Erich Keller states: “After I saw Crawl Noise live, I tried everything to steal the drummer Osi for my own band Fear Of God.” This LP includes all their existing recordings: the first demo “Musical rape” (1988), their Demo #2 (1989) and two complete live sets from 1987 to 1988 (one was included on the B-side of their only 7″ and the other in some killer compilation tapes like “Rudi Rat 1” and SOA’s “Use your anger“).

What you get here is a deadly tornado of aberrant, antimusical Noisecore putrefaction blasting through impossibly fast drumming delirium, some awful background noise that could be a guitar/bass as much as a microphone pushed into a cement mixer, and at the top of all some of the most disturbing vomited grunts you can think of. Countless tracks,  complete acoustic demolition! Includes an insert with liner notes and original artworks from their few releases around at the time! Click HERE for the trailer!

Diehard swirl filthy white vinyl strictly limited to 100 copies

Black vinyl limited to 200

==================

POISON “Into the abyss – Resurrected” LP + CD + poster (F.O.A.D. 162)

POISON’s infernal cult is alive!! Just when you thought that it was all said and done with FOAD‘s monster-work “Hoelle und vernichtung” (a colossal boxset including the band’s complete discography), the wizard of darkness and evil Uli Hildenbrand unearthed from his rotting vaults a lost & found mastertape of “Into the abyss” transfered directly from the studio reels back in 1987, unlike all the previously existing re-issues that were all taken from the 1st vinyl pressing. This version is the most pristine and faithful to the original studio recordings you can think of, sounding farly better than any other release around. Pure infernal armageddon from one of the most ancient pioneering Black / Death Metal hellhounds of the mittel-European scene of the 80’s. Originally recorded in 1986, released on tape in 1987 and then 6 years later on vinyl/LP by Median Creations, “Into the abyss” is the only real studio recording of this blasphemic Teutonic horde and hands down their most powerful production, considering that the previous demos were all rough DIY recordings made in their practice space.

What you will find on this masterpiece is pummeling and barbaric death / thrash metal with plenty of early black metal elements from their earlier works. The progress this band had made in less then a year of their previous recording is remarkable, but at the same time, when looking at each demo in chronological order, you see a steady progression in their sound from recording to recording, so seeing the band improve this much should not really be a shocker. “Into the abyss” is essential for anyone even remotely into brutal, vicious 80’s death/thrash, as well as old school black metal and the mid-late 80’s proto-death metal sound. LP with bonus CD and A2 poster with photos and liner notes (written by Uli Hildenbrand). Click HERE for the trailer!

Posted in Pre Orders, Raw Power, Releases, Svart Parad on February 11th, 2019 by foadmaster2022

Another crossfire bombing from the F.O.A.D. headquarters is ready to shatter your turntable! If the last month’s assault was more focused on Death/Grind extremities, for February we’re back to an all out Hardcore strike with two classic bands hailing from Sweden and Italy. Both have a long story of collaboration and friendship with us, in the first case due to the Asocial connection (as the band that we’re about to introduce had members in common with them) and in the 2nd case, well…it’s RAW POWER, and all their ’80s discography has been scrupulously reissued on F.O.A.D. with a lot of rare and unreleased extras.  Our first announcement for this month is the ultimate complete discography by SVART PARAD on a deluxe double LP + CD + booklet. This release finally makes justice to one of the most important Swedish HC bands of the ’80s and wipes away all the previous editions, above all those cheap ‘n’ crappy ones on a2o records, incomplete and made with no passion for quality and details. Here you’ll find all the band’s demos re-ripped and mastered from the 1st generation tapes, adding a lot of rare and unreleased tracks.

And then it’s the turn of RAW POWER… have you ever wondered why “Reptile house“, probably their best album of the 90s, has never been released on vinyl?!? It was about time to make this happen, and there was no better opportunity than doing it on the twentieth anniversary since its original release date. This special “XX” version has both the 1998 session reissued on a limited picture LP and a bonus CD with both the original recordings and a brand new unreleased session with those killer tracks re-recorded two decades later. So, SVART PARADTotal Svart Parad” Gatefold 2xLP + CD and RAW POWERReptile house – XX Anniversary” Picture LP + CD are available on preorder. The official release date is scheduled for February 22, 2019. As usual, act fast if you want to catch the ltd. splatter vinyl version of “Total Svart Parad“, it won’t last for long…

DECAPITATION “Let the killing begin” LP and ANARCHUS “Final fall of the gods – extended” LP: preorders start NOW!!

Posted in Anarchus, Decapitation, Pre Orders, Releases on January 17th, 2019 by foadmaster2022

Are you ready to face a new year of F.O.A.D. bombardments to your auditory system? After delivering the colossal 2Kg monolith that was the DISCHARGENoise not music” box + book (we have finally finished to send all preorders) we’re back to more obscure and extreme territories unearthing two classics of grinding brutality respectively from USA and Mexico. The first is the complete discography by DECAPITATION called “Let the killing begin“, one of those rare bands that back in the mid ’80s was already playing so fast and violent that will make you think deeply on what really means being extreme in Metal and draw a comparison to how the scene evolved in the years to follow… F.O.A.D. is specialized in bringing back to light these pioneering speed monsters that were killing ears with proto blast beats and cut-throat vocals when this shit was still a complete taboo.. so if you’ve enjoyed previous death-threats like S.LO.D., Cryptic SlaughterLife in grave“, FCDN Tormentor, Rapt, Majesty and so on, then you can’t miss DECAPITATION it was maniacs playing at speeds from another world when nobody was doing it so radically.

And to complete the massacre, we’re also re-releasing a classic of pioneering Mexican Grindcore from 1990, the debut EP “Final fall of the gods” by ANARCHUS in a special extended version adding as bonus an unreleased rough mix of that killing session, sounding even more rotten and sick. So preorders for DECAPITATIONLet the killing begin” LP and ANARCHUSFinal fall of the gods – extended” LP are up now, as always there are diehard editions on colored vinyl. Blast fast if you want to catch them!

More in detail about each release:

DECAPITATION “Let the killing begin” LP  (F.O.A.D. 146)

Before there was some so called “extreme Metal” on this Earth, there were the radical sounds of bands like POISON, GENOCIDE, DEATH, ARCHENEMY and fuckin’ DECAPITATION!!!!! These guys were around way before everybody else. MAJOR CRUSHING DEATH finally unleashed on vinyl!!!!” (Laurent Ramadier, Snakepit Mag, D.O.D.). This introduction sums up very well the contents of this incredible slab of sickness from 1985! DECAPITATION were insanely fast and brutal for the time they were around… here you get their complete discography, consisting of the cult “Killing the innocents” Demo 1985 / Rehearsal 1985 / complete live at Canoga Park, CA, 1985 ending with a CONFUSE cover!

Horror tinged US Death / Speedcore, a pioneering mix of obscure Death Metal and raw Thrashcore violence at blasting speed. If you like stuff like CRYPTIC SLAUGHTERLife in grave” demo, FCDN TORMENTORDemonic” demo, the early demos by DEATH and so on, DECAPITATION is exactly that kind of stuff! Quoting a review of that era: “The vocals are so sick and violating they can cause severe brain damage… I should know, I’m setting an appointment to see a Neurologist!“. Comes with a 12 page booklet including lyrics, ‘zine excerpts, rare artworks, an extensive interview by Laurent Ramadier and an introduction by King Fowley (DECEASED). Click HERE for the trailer!

==================

ANARCHUS “Final fall of the gods (extended)” LP (F.O.A.D. 156)

Final fall of the gods” was the first vinyl output by Mexico’s finest Grindcore terrorists, ANARCHUS.  It originally came out in 1990 released by Rigid Records (that was also responsible for delivering early efforts by bands like ASSÜCK, G-ANX, AGATHOCLES etc…) and it was mixed at Morrisound Studio by the legend, Scott Burns. After nearly 3 decades it was about time to bring this classic back on vinyl in a top quality edition having all the features that you’d expect from a F.O.A.D. release. Side A includes the original session specially remastered at Toxic Basement Studio for the most outraegous sonic impact, side B has as special bonus a blood-stenching rough mix of this cult session exhumed from the band’s archives and never heard before!!

It sounds very different and emphasizes the amount of hatred and ferocity these maniacos used to unleash, in an even more aggressive and brutal way. A real classic of old school Death/Grind ferocity from the Mexican masters of unholy torment!  Comes with a stunning insert including rare photos and flyers from those years. Click HERE for the trailer!

DISCHARGE “Noise not music”- Boxset: UPDATES!!

Posted in Discharge, Pre Orders, Releases on December 29th, 2018 by foadmaster2022

Finally, a first stock of DISCHARGENoise not music” Boxsets has been delivered to our warehouse and we’re happy to say that it looks and sounds perfectly,  with no doubt it’s the most deluxe FOAD release so far.

Unfortunately, however, there is also a small negative note: due to a mistake at the pressing plant, what was supposed to be the “splatter” version came out as plain electric blue vinyl with no black splattering. So what we have pre-sold and announced as splatter is actually “electric blue“. The striped version was pressed correctly. We’re posting some photos here so you can clearly see how it looks like.

Both respectively limited to 180 copies (electric blue) and 200 copies (striped). Yes, there are 20 copies less than what was expected for the electric blue version, don’t worry because no order will be changed, we’re just taking some off from those reserved by local record shops because they are good with the black vinyl one.  We apologize for this mistake but it was completely out of our control. It’s still the most limited version and most important the audio and visual contents are the same as on the other editions.. thanks in advance for understanding.

Orders will start to ship from January 2nd, please be patient because there are tons of them, we’ll try to be as fast as possible.

DISCHARGE “Noise not music” BOXSET (3 x LPs, 1 x 7″ + BOOK) PREORDERS START NOW!!

Posted in Discharge, Pre Orders, Releases on December 10th, 2018 by foadmaster2022

It’s been 2 months since the last FOAD release, quite unusual considering that in the last 4-5 years we have kept on putting out at least 2 records monthly without never stopping. No we’re not sleeping neither we decided to slow down… it’s just that we were preparing a monstrous nuclear stockpile to end the year in the greatest way!!

Brief introduction: in 1980 four teenagers from Stoke exploded onto the worldwide punk scene with all the subtlety of a ten megaton nuclear warhead; so powerful and devastating was their initial impact that the entire world sat up, took notice, and thousands of bands across the globe were prompted to harden their style and speed up in a vain attempt to match the singularly most ferocious band on planet earth. That band ladies and gentlemen, was DISCHARGE! Over the next three years their uncompromising musical onslaught grew tighter, lyrically bleaker and even more unrelenting as they unleashed release after release highlighting the monstrous nuclear threat the world faced along with the true realities of war and insidious state control! Unstoppable in the race towards musical Armageddon, the bands enduring legacy has never accurately been captured until now; FOAD Records has spent a long time in creating the ultimate DISCHARGE release: the gigantic “NOISE NOT MUSIC” boxset consisting of a massive hard-cover book, a triple LP set housed in a trifold sleeve, a 8-track 7″ and a poster! With a visual presentation that follows the true aesthetic of the early singles by using only original logos, fonts, colours and the graphic style of the band’s first 3 EP’s and packaging that finally does them justice rather than another cheap bootleg or cash in by a label looking to make money.

PREORDERS START NOW, as usual we recommend you to act fast if you want to grab the limited colored vinyl versions, they’ll be gone in few days. **IMPORTANT** : The release date for this boxset is set for DECEMBER 27, 2018 Please be aware that the postal service through the Xmas/New Year rush can be very slow and disorganized, so don’t be surprised if delivery times will be a bit longer or if we’ll eventually decide to ship your order after the Xmas/New Year chaos (after January 6th). Just be patient and we’ll give you full assistance as always.

Now more in detail about the contents of this titan:
