SEVEN MINUTES OF NAUSEA “Thrash culture as bora” LP+CD and NOISE / BIXERA Split 7″ OUT NOW!!

Posted in 7 Minutes of Nausea, Bixera, Noise, Pre Orders, Releases on March 26th, 2018 by foadmaster2022

Are you ready to face the catastrophic effects of this month’s nuclear noise detonation prepared for you by FOAD Records? After 31 years since we started the label and 10 years of releasing records, CDs and tapes on constant basis, we can easily admit that today’s announcement is without doubt the most extreme and anti-musical monstrosity that we have ever put out on vinyl… not just Noisecore, but Noisecore of the most extreme type. So you are warned, you need steel armored ear drums to face this sonic extermination! MINUTES OF NAUSEA “Thrash culture as bora” LP+CD and NOISE / BIXERA Split 7″ are both OUT NOW!! All your preorders will be sent this week.

More in detail about each release:

SEVEN MINUTES OF NAUSEA “Thrash culture as bora” LP+CD (F.O.A.D. 141)

First chapter in FOAD‘s annihilating mission to re-issue all the early 7MON material enriched with an incredible amount of rare and unreleased recordings. This LP includes the band’s first 2 EPs “Our culture is boring” and “Thrashbora” – the complete sessions with a lot of never heard before outtakes, freshly ripped from Mick’s master tapes. Straight from the LP liner-notes: “The story behind this LP begun when Matthias Weigand delivered us a huge box of 7MON reels to transfer in the studio, to check exactly what was included in each one of them. We found out that most of them were the masters of the early Eps released by TNT &Records and then Ecocentric Records. When we started to discuss about a possible series of 7MON releases on LP to re-build the band’s discography from the early times, Mick came out with the fact that he had recently unearthed the complete sessions of each EP, that were much longer than how they were originally released on 7″. So we opted to start with a LP including these extended “Our culture is boring” and “Thrashbora” sessions ripped from Mick’s tapes. Anyway, since the sound on the reels from which the Eps were produced is somehow more “in the face” and sharper on the high frequencies we decided to add a bonus CD showing you both versions: the complete (longer) session ripped from Mick’s cassettes and the EP edit transferred from the reels.

Started in 1985 in Australia by Scut and Mick Hollows and mutated through different incarnations revolving around Mick’s figure, 7MON still smashes eardrums nowadays. Their first EP “Our culture is boring” was released in 1988 and immediately tore down all the walls of music conception. 351 songs, melted into a blurr-fest of drums, bass and shouts. An endless stream of blasts, grunts, feedbacks and to the point political lyrics, pushing forward the boundaries of the then newborn loud cousin of Grindcore, Noisecore. In 1989 Mick and Scut delivered their second effort (recorded in fall 1988), this time on flexi disc. “Thrashbora” follows the steps of its predecessor, sounding even noisier and fiercer. These two legendary EP’s shaped a whole genre and countless bands spawned from the “musical” extremism concepted by two Australian guys in the 80’s. If there’s a heaven of Noise, Seven Minutes Of Nausea is surely deserving a place at the top of it. LP with a special PVC sticker on the front cover, bonus CD and 20 page lyrics booklet!

Limited to 300 copies all on color-in-color vinyl (black into coke bottle green)

NOISE / BIXERA Split 7″ (F.O.A.D. 142)

Complete Noise/Grind terrorism from Brazil. Long time aural butchers NOISE deliver 16 ultra brutal stabs in the face, originally written in 1996 and re-recorded in 2015 sounding even sicker and harsher. You perfectly know what to expect from them: an inhuman dose of monster growls, screams, cacophonic distortion and lightning fast drums. Recommended if you like FEAR OF GOD, TUMOR, V.N.A., SORE THROAT and other eardrum molesters of that kind. BIXERA complete the onslaught with a morbid and gory dose of old school Grindcore that will catapult you back to 1988-1991. It reminds of early REGURGITATE, STENCH OF CORPSE, GORE BEYOND NECROPSY, IMPETIGO and other putrid aberrations combining primitive deathly Grindcore with Gore and Splatter imagery and pitchshifted puking vocals.

Available in 2 different versions:

Posted in Bixera, Noise, Pre Orders, Releases, Seven Minutes Of Nausea on March 12th, 2018 by foadmaster2022

Last month after introducing the pulverizing sonic earthquake raised by FEAR OF GOD and RAPT we left with a deadly promise that was: “If you enjoyed this batch of ear-damaging noise-not-music devastation stay tuned because next month things will remain at the same level of insanity and nihilism“. So here we are with 2 more ultra-noisy outputs of the bloodiest type. After delivering complete retrospectives by Noisecore heavyweights like Sore Throat, Fear Of God, Tumor, VNA etc. it was more and more evident that a key-name in the genre was still missing in our list… yes we’re talking of Australia’s anti-music pioneers SEVEN MINUTES OF NAUSEA. After years of planning and organizing this madness, it’s finally time for us to launch the first installment of a plan that will see FOAD Records gradually re-issuing all their early day recordings adding a lot of unreleased and lost & found abominations.

This first LP is called “Thrash culture as bora” and includes their first 2 Eps with a lot of extra songs from each session. More 7MON releases will follow after this, and for those who will collect them all we are preparing a special surprise to hold them all together… wait and see. In conjunction with this seminal Noise milestone we decided to add another slab of total extremity that was in FOAD‘s pipeline for a long time: the NOISE / BIXERA Split 7″, a brutal dose of Brazilian Noise/Grind ferocity as it’s no secret that we are total maniacs of the most aberrant old school blasting cacophony spawned in the bloodiest hounds of South America. So we’re honored to announce that
SEVEN MINUTES OF NAUSEAThrash culture as bora” LP+CD and NOISE / BIXERA Split 7″ are both up for preorders. The official release date is scheduled for March 24th 2018.

RAPT “Thrash war – discography 1984-1987” LP+7″+CD and FEAR OF GOD “s/t EP” (12″ version) preorders start NOW!!

Posted in Fear Of God, Pre Orders, Rapt, Releases on February 5th, 2018 by foadmaster2022

After a short break to rearrange things in our warehouse, ship the many orders for the CB boxset and do an inventory, we’re back with our usual double assault of headblowing sonic butchery. And this month things are getting really sick, as we’re ready to launch 2 pioneering Noisecore blasts from the 80s, respectively hailing from France and Switzerland. The first surprise is nothing else but the “Thrash war” total discography LP+7″+CD by RAPT, that after being almost 3 years in the making is finally ready to incinerate your turntable.

The other is the 30th anniversary edition of one of our all time favourite records, the legendary s/t 21 track EP 1988 by the Swiss noisecore terrorists FEAR OF GOD, for the first time on 12″ in a top sounding ear damaging edition. So RAPTThrash war – discography 1984-1987” LP+7″+CD and FEAR OF GOD “s/t EP” (12″ version) are up for preorders. We’ll start to ship on February 17th 2018.

More in detail about each release:

RAPT “Thrash war – discography 1984-1987” LP+7″+CD  (F.O.A.D. 139)

Noise with distortion – it’s the Thrash core. Musical destruction, now another war… it’s an expression. Here’s the Thrash War!” these are the lyrics of the title track, to give you a picture of the sonic hecatomb that these French maniacs were spawning. Out of tune guitars, manic fast drumming and rabid vocals… logos of LÄRM, KAAOS, HEADCLEANERS, EU’S ARSE on their jackets. Add that their only 7″ got originally released on “Caos Produzioni” by the singer of WRETCHED… you can easily guess how they were sounding. RAPT were certainly not the earliest Hardcore band in the 80s’ French scene but certainly one of the fastest and noisiest. This total discography set authorized by the band’s bass player and screamer Olivier collects their Split 7″ with Final Blast, all their demos (also including the 3rd one recorded in NYC with a different line-up) and a very detailed selection of rare recordings, most of which have never been released to date.

Each session has been transferred from the mastertapes provided by the band and accurately mastered for vinyl, you have never heard RAPT sounding so powerful and clear as on this ultimate release. Housed in a gatefold sleeve with a fanzine styled booklet full of photos, flyers, zine excerpts and original artworks. The extra 7″ has the NYC demo 1987 while the bonus CD has all what you’ll find on the LP and 7″ + some bonus live and rehearsals.

Available in 2 different versions:

Diehard edition on splatter blue vs bone-white vinyl, limited to 150 copies

Regular black vinyl limited to 400 copies

FEAR OF GOD “s/t EP” – 12″ version –  (F.O.A.D. 140)

Exactly 30 years ago this milestone of sheer brutality was originally released on 7″ by Temple Of Love Records. Call it Noisecore, Grind, whatthefuckcore… this 21 track destroyer still stands as one of the best records ever conceived in the history of extreme music. To celebrate this anniversary FOAD Records is reissuing it for the first time on 12″ cut at 45rpm for the best possible sonic annihilation, housed in a 80’s styled maxi single sleeve with lyrics insert and bonus sticker.

This 21-track EP is essential in whatever form you stumble across it. The short-lived (1986-1988), much hyped and oft-bootlegged Swiss outfit, as enigmatic and distant as the cold, dissonant bursts imprisoned on this EP, blended early Napalm Death, Swans and something indescribable of their own to create an achingly raw and wordless primal scream” (Terrorizer Mag, UK – “Essential Grindcore albums – Europe”)

Limited edition of 400 copies, all on transparent vinyl

SLIP HEAD BUTT gatefold LP and BATTLE ATTACKER “Silly notice” LP preorders start now!

Posted in Battle Attacker, Pre Orders, Releases, Slip Head Butt on November 21st, 2017 by foadmaster2022

Only a few days have passed since we dropped our last vinyl bombing (Declino and The Corporate Whores!) and we’re ready to attack again with another announcement. This time we’re heading the rudder towards one of our favourite lands when it comes to raging Hardcore / Punk / Thrash delivered with energy and creativity: once again we’re proud to announce two Japanese bands on FOAD! The first is quite atypical for our standard of full speed and rawness: we’re talking about SLIP HEAD BUTT “インサート”, a powerful R’n’R Punk combo with a stellar line-up consisting of members from DEATH SIDE, JUDGEMENT, CHICKEN BOWELS, THE GAIA, VID-SEX, SAMURAI, DELTA PUREE etc.. Need to add more? Take a look at this teaser: This LP is their second full length and it’s insanely catchy and loud! Certainly different from the FOAD‘s thrashing delirium you’re all used to but still a kick in the balls!

The other band sees us once again exploring the Kanagawa prefecture from which we already consecrated bands like MAD CONFLUX, TOXIC NOISE and SYSTEMATIC DEATH. This time we’re moving to Yokosuka for bringing to light an unsung powerhouse of distortion and rage: BATTLE ATTACKER! If your ideal Japanese Hardcore record is a bloodfeast of noisy guitars, fast drums and raging vocals, then “Silly notice” will make your day!

This is just another proof that in the endless Rising Sun galaxy of ultra-rare demos, obscure compilations and bands mentioned only by a handful of psychos, there’s always something GREAT to be discovered, and since here at FOAD there’s a team of die-hard maniacs into this kind of obscurities, we’ll always have special to detonate your brains! So… SLIP HEAD BUTT gatefold LP and BATTLE ATTACKERSilly notice” LP are up for preorders. They’re limited to 300 and the diehard versions on colored vinyl strictly limited to 100 are expected to sell out very quickly..: you know what to do!

More in detail about each release:

SLIP HEAD BUTT –“インサート” gatefold LP + insert (F.O.A.D. 127)

Second full length album for this all-star band from Tokyo featuring long time heroes of the Japanese HC scene such as Mukachin (DEATH SIDE, JUDGEMENT, CHICKEN BOWELS) as well as ex members of The GAIA, SAMURAI, VID-SEX, DELTA PUREE etc.

They deliver a solid dose of energetic and powerful R’n’r Punk at times reminding of The Stooges mixed with a 80s Japanese street Punk backbone perfectly portraying the background they come from. Housed in a thick gatefold sleeve enriched by the wonderful artwork by the band’s frontman Oiwa. Licensed by Break The Records/Japan that originally put it out on CD few months ago…

Available in 2 different versions:

Die-hard swirl brown vinyl limited to 100 copies

Black vinyl limited to 200

BATTLE ATTACKER – “Silly notice” LP + booklet (F.O.A.D. 137)

Yokosuka City Hardcore at its rawest stage! Formed in 1988, this obscure, extremely violent outfit is only known by a handful of diehard Japancore maniacs for their devastating tracks on the excellent “Yokosuka City HC” v.a. 7″ released in 1991 by MCR Company. But there’s a lot more to be unearthed… this complete discography LP includes their 2 rare demotapes, the YC-HC comp. track and an unreleased one, for a total 13 lethal blows. The style here is a manic fast explosion of traditional late 80s/early 90s Japanese Hardcore combining the thrash-till-death formula with a wall of guitar distortion that recalls a massive Confuse influence. Trailer HERE !!

If you enjoyed FOAD‘s previous commitment in bringing back to light other killer bands from the Kanagawa area (Toxic Noise, Mad Conflux, Systematic Death etc…) or if you’re simply looking for another good Japanese Hardcore record from the golden days of a scene that delivered incredibly fast and aggressive bands, then don’t miss this bomb of brain-damaging distortion thrash!! Deluxe sleeve printed with a pantone silver layer, art by Ichi (Miracle3 Design) that also drew album covers for S.O.B., Kikeiji etc plus a super-detailed 24 page booklet with band flyers, photos, artworks and more..

DECLINO “Terra bruciata – Discografia completa” gatefold 2xLP and THE CORPORATE WHORES  “Revenge of the whores – complete session” LP: preorders are OPEN!

Posted in Declino, Pre Orders, Releases, The Corporate Whores on October 12th, 2017 by foadmaster2022

With this month’s double aggression we’re finally returning to a well-tested ground in the history of FOAD‘s releases: ’80s Italian Hardcore.  If you look back at our previous works you can find the entire first decade’s discography of RAW POWER, complete anthologies by NERORGASMO, BLUE VOMIT, CRASH BOX, PEGGIO PUNX, EU’S ARSE, UPSET NOISE and many more. And we’re happy to announce a fundamental addition to these series: nothing else but DECLINO, with the ultimate and definitive double LP discography compiling all their existing recordings dating from 1983 to 1985.  This release means a lot to us, not only because we consider them as one of the best expressions of pure Hardcore from those flaming early days, but also because F.O.A.D. was founded in Torino, and DECLINO were one of the most important names shaping our area’s HC style. And as an interesting match to this anthology we picked another pioneering band delivering an even faster and more deranged brand of HC…Tucson Arizona’s THE CORPORATE WHORES with their cult demotape “The revenge of the whores” (1983) for the first time on vinyl, and totally complete. For those who aren’t familiar with this obscure outfit, they were delivering some sick, proto-blastbeat friendly Hardcore/Noise back in 1983 and if you’re thirsty for anything that was ultrafast and extreme before Napalm Death, Siege, Repulsion and Heresy, then this will make your day! So it’s time for new FOAD preorders, and our recipe for October consists of:  DECLINOTerra bruciata – discografia completa” 2xLP and THE CORPORATE WHORESRevenge of the whores – complete session” LP!!  As we always recommend, act fast if you want to get the limited colored vinyl version because in most cases they get sold out on preorder!!

More in detail about each release:

DECLINO “Terra bruciata – discografia completa” 2xLP  (F.O.A.D. 134)

The most exhaustive and complete DECLINO discography release ever made! Formed in 1982 in Torino (also hometown of Negazione, Kollettivo, Blue Vomit, Nerorgasmo and many more), DECLINO stands as one of the most important names in the legendary first wave of Italian Hardcore, or call it “the furious years” or specifically for Torino, the “wild bunch”. They were on the maps in the early MRR reports about Italy’s Punk/HC scene and also appeared in the fundamental “P.E.A.C.E.” 2xLP compilation on R Radical Records!  Their style was a highly energetic clash of speed, rage and creative song-writing. The band featured members that also played in cult acts such as Negazione, Indigesti, 5° Braccio etc… and they were definitely among the first in their area to develop a mature style that was leaning more towards the intensity of total Hardcore than on Punk’s rawness. This anthology includes all their existing studio recordings, consisting of: the debut 7″ (1983), “Mucchio selvaggio” split tape/LP with Negazione (1984), 3 unreleased tracks (1984), “Eresia” 12″ (1985) and a complete soundboard live recording (Denmark, 1985) never released before in its entirety… for a total of 39 songs!

Housed in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with a 11″x11″ booklet glued on the inner panel, collecting a huge selection of photos, flyers, artworks and all the lyrics. And included in this first pressing you’ll also find a poster with the discarded art for “Eresia” 12″ that has never been published to date!! Compared to the previous collective works, “Terra bruciata” is the definitive and most complete one, each session / recording included is totally complete! If you’re a maniac of rapid, straightforward Italian Hardcore and ’80s HC in general, this is an absolute must!

THE CORPORATE WHORES  “Revenge of the whores – complete session” LP (F.O.A.D. 133)

Going through countless discussions on blast-beat generators and pioneering early 80’s bands adopting the hyperfast formula later consolidated in Grindcore, Powerviolence and other full-on-speed sonic extremes, the “Revenge of the whores” demo 1983 was what we would call an “obscure obscurity” mentioned by few, but totally deserving to be brought under spotlight. Jan of AGATHOCLES often quoted it as an influence in his early days into radical HC/Noise and reading the “Good bad music for bad, bad times” blog made by Erich (FEAR OF GOD) there was an entire post about it, from which we’d like to highlight this introduction: “If you wanted to be the coolest of the cool, you’ve had to have the REVENGE OF THE WHORES demotape and knew, that SIEGE weren’t the first.” Back in the tape-trading years and before the internet era, this band was surrounded by complete mystery, their only tape wasn’t even circulating with a cover/sleeve, just a handwritten sheet with tracklisting, and many thought that their name was “Revenge of whores” and not THE CORPORATE WHORES as it actually is. So finally, with this FOAD release we’re making justice to these pioneering ultra-fast and noisy HC psychos hailing from Tucson, Arizona. Here you get the complete “Revenge of the whores” 1983 session (24 SONGS!) for the first time on vinyl freshly ripped from the masters provided by the band.

Side A includes that mayhemic bloodfeast of speed that put them on the proto-grindcore charts: think of SIEGE or early D.R.I. running even faster and noisier! Side B shows the versatility of their style going through more experimental and nonsense lo-fi Punk territories. Comes with a 8 page booklet including a detailed history, lyrics and flyers.  If you’re looking forward to unearth the rarest and most obscure early day blasting noise/HC outfits, THE CORPORATE WHORES need to be added to your collection right there close to names like Cyanamid, Brigada Do Odio, Chemotherapy, S.L.O.D. and so on!
