“NIGHT OF THE SPEED DEMONS” festival is back with its 5th edition, more massive than ever with a full scale two days event dedicated to the best harsh/Noise,Punk/Hardcore,PowerViolence & Grind… some of the bands involved are legendary ACCUSED, BASTARD NOISE, YACOPSAE, together with IVS PRIMAE NOCTIS, ANTI YOU, DYSMORFIC, AMASSADO and more… an incredible festival organized by FOAD Records and hosted at Italy’s powerhouse of extreme music CSA Dordoni in Cremona, Italy.The full programme for the two nights is as follows:

The infamous “Speed Demons” monicker has been used several times by CRIPPLE BASTARDS during the late ’90s/early ’00s in the artworks of several flyers, inspired partially by the title of a Micheal Jackson’s song, and partially referred to the blend of ultra-fast music and mass demonification inspired by Lamberto Bava’s movie “Demoni”, which provided inspirational and graphical support to many CB’s releases and artworks over their early 10 years. The very first “Night Of The Speed Demons” took place in April 2003 at Bologna’s Livello 57 to celebrate CB’s third full lenght’s “Desperately Insensitive” release and the launch of hardcore/grind label www.eu91serbianleague.com’s website. The bands performing were CRIPPLE BASTARDS, UNDERTAKERS, WOPTIME, ARTURO, ENTROPIA and GRIMNESS.
The second edition of the fest in 2005 become a more professional hardcore event organized by Tube Records at Babylonia club in Biella with CRIPPLE BASTARDS, WOPTIME and SKRUIGNERS on stage.
This second edition was professionally recorded by Grunt of Avatara studio in Milano, and was published as a 3 way live CD with additional short video documentary by Tube Records a few months later. Besides Tube Records’ several attempts to organize other editions of the festival in the next few years, it’s only four years later in 2009 that “Night of the Speed Demons” comes back, this time with its first foreign guests HAEMORRHAGE from Madrid, battling with 5 of the best expressions of that time’s Italian undergroud: CRIPPLE BASTARDS‘ hate/grindcore, ARTURO‘s classical Torino-school hardcore, PAYBACK‘s NY style hardcore, MINKIONS ultrafast thrashcore and the post-core math grind reverberations of THE ORANGE MAN THEORY.
HAEMORRHAGE Live at NOSD IIII
This third edition was the first hosted at Cremona’s CSA Dordoni, the venue that is now known internationally as “Italy’s Powerhouse of Grindcore” having hosted such greats as Brutal Truth, Nasum, Regurgitate, Phobia, Extreme Noise Terror, Doom, Yacopsae, Gride, Squash Bowels, Fear Of God, Dead Infection and tons more. From the fourth edition in 2010, the festival became an annual event entirely organized by FOAD Records, and saw USA thrashcore pioneers WHERMACHT on stage along with the usual party crashers CRIPPLE BASTARDS, the new incarnation of GHOSTRIDER (pre-NECRODEATH black/thrash band), Torino’s historical thrash core JESTER BEAST, Milano’s DEATH BEFORE WORK! and MINKIONS for the second time on the NOSD’s stage.
This new fifth edition is deemed to go down in history as one of the most memorable “Speed Demons” nights, as the roster of international artists is so strong and interesting that we felt compelled to extend the fest to two nights of grinding, hardcore thrashing madness.
This year the legendary splatter-rock inventors THE ACCUSED will team up with BASTARD NOISE (USA, feat. Wood e Connell of Man Is The Bastard… the inventors of West Coast’s Powerviolence, now blended with a harsh-noise wall of experimenting sounds… unmissable!), the German ultra-fast Turbo Powerviolence legends YACOPSAE, the first ever live appearnce of IVS PRIMAE NOCTIS from Rome (incredible band featuring members of Comrades, Concrete,Ministero Dell’Inferno, Dirty Power Game), ANTI YOU from Roma, old school Hardcore in the vein of Dischord e Taang!’s band, the grindcore veterans DYSMORFIC from Mantova, CORPOPARASSITA dark/noise from Alessandri with 10 years and tons of releases under its belt, plus AMASSADO, GREEDY MISTRESS e NIDO DI VESPE. 10 bands, one stage, 2 nights of massacre like never before!!!This year the “Night of the Speed Demons” is stronger than ever and will be an unmissable event in the European extreme music scene!!
