Posted in Cripple Bastards, Death Militia, Ratos De Porao, Releases on July 10th, 2024 by foadmaster2022

We have just returned from the glorious 25th edition of the legendary Obscene Extreme Festival, which as expected was a complete blast, perhaps one of the best chapters ever. As pre-announced, we would focus this month mainly to bands that played at the festival, and we chose two heavyweights: RATOS DE PORÃO – indestructible pioneers of all Brazilian hardcore/punk/thrash and CRIPPLE BASTARDS – the highest and most intense expression of grind/hardcore made in Italy, from the late 80’s to the present. For both bands we decided to release two titles each, grabbing from their back-catalog.  For RxDxPx two deluxe reissues: “Cada dia mais sujo e agressivo / Dirty and aggressive” Gatefold 2xLP and “Sistemados pelo crucifa” LP, for C.B. an extended 12″ version of the classic debut single “Life’s built on thoughts” and a new version of “Frammenti di vita” on both LP+7″ and digipack CD.  In addition to these four, given the considerable demand, we have also decided to repress DEATH MILITIA “Onslaught of death – Demo & live 1985” LP+CD with different cover colors… for those not yet familiar with this band, this is a little gem of raw speed thrash from Canada’s 80s metal hell.

So to sum it up: RATOS DE PORÃO “Cada dia mais sujo e agressivo / Dirty and aggressive” Gatfeold 2xLP, RATOS DE PORÃO “Sistemados pelo crucifa” LP, CRIPPLE BASTARDS “Life’s built on thoughts (expanded)” LP, CRIPPLE BASTARDS “Frammenti di vita” LP+7″ and DEATH MILITIA “Onslaught of death – Demo & live 1985” LP+CD (new edition) are all up for preorders via www.scareystore.com with release date set for July 23, 2024. All of these releases were premiered at OEF, so if you were there and visited the massive F.O.A.D. Records’ booth, you probably already grabbed them at the festival. As of today, they are also available for pre-sale online, so don’t miss out. As always we also offer you a ltd. bundle with diehard versions of the two RxDxPx and two C.B. LPs, for those who want to buy them in bulk.  Please note that the digipack CD version of CRIPPLE BASTARDS “Frammenti di vita” is a bit delayed so we are not putting it up for pre-sale with the other titles, it’ll be directly available on the out now date. And to close the usual two important recommendations:  1) act fast if you want to secure the colored/diehard versions to your collection, we have already sold a lot of them at OEF and they won’t last long 2) the summer season is undoubtedly one of the most hectic and busy for us as we alternate between working at festivals with our booth and the usual standard of 4-5 monthly releases and related mailorder duties. Please don’t press us with unnecessary questions about shipping date, tracking, replacement or additions of items after an order has been placed, address changes or whatever, because the stress and time we take to respond only delays our work and all the energy and good will we put into it. Please be patient and wait for your turn, you will receive your order and tracking code without problems.

And now to go into more detail about this month’s 5x landmines:

RATOS DE PORÃO “Cada dia mais sujo e agressivo / Dirty and aggressive” Gatfeold 2xLP (F.O.A.D. 343)

Official reissue of the devastating 3rd thrash opus by the undisputed godfathers of the most furious and influential Brazilian crossover HC of all eras! DOUBLE LP with both versions recorded at the time (1988): the one sung in Portuguese and the one in English released as “Dirty and aggressive”. A lethal overdose of ultra-addictive riffs, vitriolic vocals and a dizzying rhythm session. Deluxe gatefold sleeve with 24″x12″ foldout insert collecting rare photos from that era, lyrics in both languages and Igor Cavalera’s iconic rat artwork!! After two blistering fast hardcore records (“Crucificados pelo sistema” and “Descanse em paz”), Gordo and his fellow bandmates delivered this great gem of hatred and caustic criticism. This album quickly became legendary, paving the way for “Brasil”, their most acclaimed album. Fierce, powerful and greatly written, played and produced, “Cada dia mais sujo e agressivo” is an absolute must-have fo fans of godly good thrashing crossover!

RATOS DE PORÃO “Sistemados pelo crucifa” LP (F.O.A.D. 352)

Out of print for nearly 20 years, here’s a top quality reissue of RxDxPx’s re-recorded version of their first seminal album “Crucificados pelo sistema” (1983). “Sistemados pelo crucifa” was originally recorded in 1999, mixed by Billy Anderson and released in 2001 by Alternative Tentacles and Peculio Discos. Absolutely punishing, no frills hardcore thrash from these indestructible Brazilian punk pioneers smashing eardrums since 43 years… All their early anthems revisited at neck-breaking speed + 1 exclusive bonus track!!! LP with pantone bronze laminated cover and fold-out insert with lyrics, liner notes and photos. Quoting the introduction done back in the day by Alternative Tentacles:  “this new version of Crucificados Pelo Sistema captures the rare chemistry of the current members performing the band’s classic songs. This time around, the album benefits from the technical wizardry of engineer Billy Anderson (LOGICAL NONSENSE, MELVINS, NEUROSIS), who mixed their first AT release, Carniceria Tropical (1998). RDP’s Portuguese lyrics focus on day to day life in Brazil, spotlighting political and social issues. They present a positive outlook and speak of creating a better future, while tempering their optimism with a strong hint of dark humor. Sistemados Pelo Crucifa is testimony to RDP’s enduring reign as HC champions!”

CRIPPLE BASTARDS “Life’s built on thoughts (expanded)” LP (F.O.A.D. 350)

F.O.A.D. Records crosses the 350th release milestone with this deafening slab of filthy grindcore punk. More than 30 years later… official reissue of C.B.’s first full 7″ originally released in 1993 on A-Wat Records! Cripple Bastards deliver some of their most classic tunes on this debut slasher, upgrading their ability to mix their grind/noise roots with hyper-distorted ’80s punk influences. Remastered from the original 1st generation tapes and enhanced by 8 bonus out-takes from the same session.
“..the ultimate personification of unadulterated rage. 16 bursts of primitive angst. Raw, uncompromising hatred is seething from the cracks of every track. Musically, it’s homespun, basement Punk that explodes into unpredictable bursts of pure, trillion-m.p.h. Noise.” CHRIS DODGE, Flipside, 1993.   LP with silk screened art on B-side and foldout insert with lyrics.

CRIPPLE BASTARDS “Frammenti di vita” LP+7″ (F.O.A.D. 012)

Back in print after more than 10 years! 14 classics of 80’s italian punk, hardcore and thrash grinded & butchered by Italy’s undisputed grindcore masters. The end result is a granitic overdose of pounding hate-fueled thrash/fastcore, ranging from out-of-control explosive fury to C.B.’s true old school hardcore roots… BULLDOZER, SCHIZO, NEGAZIONE, RAW POWER, JESTER BEAST, IMPACT, WRETCHED, NERORGASMO, DECLINO, UPSET NOISE and many more.. Reissue of the 2010 LP + a 7″ reproduction of “Frammenti di vita” ‘s first chapter (1994) remixed at Toxic Basement Studio. Front cover art by Andrei Bouzikov (Municipal Waste, Voetsek, Violator, Deadfall, Cannabis Corpse, S.O.D. etc). Special guests on the album: C.C. Muz (JESTER BEAST) playing all guitars on “Polizia una razza da estinguere”,
Pier Gonella (NECRODEATH), Ivan (SKRUIGNERS) and more!! Here’s the band’s introduction to this release: “In 1994, the German noise/grind/thrash label Ecocentric Records released a Cripple Bastards 7” entitled “Frammenti di vita” (Fragments of life), containing 6 covers of Italian hardcore punk bands from the early 1980s, grinded and butchered in our own style. For years we planned to record a definitive full length follow-up with different songs from the original EP, and this finally happened way later, in 2010. We chose a selection of classic Italian hardcore-thrash pioneers who influenced us the most in the early days and helped shape our sound, and this is also our tribute to those pioneering bands whose members have become our friends over the years.  This LP also adds as a bonus the 1994 7″ retransferred from the original reels and remixed at Toxic Basement Studios, with a much better sound than the original Dracma mix made at the time…”

And I’ll never forget the cow skull they had on stage with them”.  Sourced from the band’s tapes and specially mastered for vinyl for the most destructive sonic impact. 4 x Swedish hardcore rippers and the definitive, expanded version of the classic DISCHARGE “Noise not music” book enriched by a 4 x CD set with rare recordings 1980-1983… this is what we offer you this month, nothing more and nothing less! Another glorious hardcore death-race on F.O.A.D., the result of the usual manic work of painstaking research and assembly.  And a pairing that fits perfectly: there’s no doubt that Discharge had a strong influence on the first wave of Scandinavian hardcore, so putting together 4 x Swedish HC ragers from the 80s and a mammoth audio & visual collection on Discharge from their 1980-19893 heyday is surely a formula that will be enjoyed by many… All the Swedish releases have been made with the support of Uproar Records and consist of: the fuzzy and irreverent TATUERADE SNUTKUKAR, with their primitive and rough hardcore “trash” attack; the obscurity of ORAL, with straightforward hardcore in pure Scandinavian school (think Anti Cimex, Totalitär, Avskum); KRUNCH – on their second F.O.A.D. release, this time a complete collection of all their singles released in the 80s, and NYX NEGATIV with by popular demand a reissue of the LP discography already released on F.O.A.D. two years ago.  What to say about the DISCHARGE book, to quote the mastermind that assembled this beast, namely Rich Walker of the legendary SORE THROAT: “In 1980, four teenagers from the darkest depths of Stoke On Trent exploded onto the world punk scene with the subtlety of a nuclear warhead detonation. Collected across this revised and expanded edition of 4 x CD’s, and accompanied by a hardback book with 100 full-color pages of rare band photos, flyers and original magazine features, is a monstrously detailed historical dissemination documenting the band’s unrelenting assault upon HC punk audiences worldwide”.

To sum up, June on F.O.A.D. Records will delight you with the following sonic crimes: DISCHARGE “Noise not music 1980-1983” BOOK + 4xCD, TATUERADE SNUTKUKAR “Complete Noise 1982-1986…” LP+CD, ORAL “Dystopisk Framtid” LP, KRUNCH “Honänu – En samling 1983/1989” LP and NYX NEGATIV “Kalrshamns Punks 1981-1984” LP (2nd edition). Preorders are up now at www.scareystore.com !!  As always, a few recommendations that we ask you to read and keep in mind: we have made available two different bundles at a discounted price.. one for those who want to grab all of this month’s releases together, and one including only the diehard versions of the 4 x Swedish HC releases. We suggest you to act fast because they are time limited and will expire before the out-now date (June 17).  PAY ATTENTION BECAUSE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE OPENING OF THESE PRE-SALES WE HAVE ALSO APPLIED 10% OFF ON ALL VINYL AND CDS IN OUR HUGE MAILORDER CATALOG AT WWW.SCAREYSTORE.COM – don’t miss your chance!  And very last thing: we repeat it all the time but few people pay attention…the amount of orders we have to process daily is really challenging and stressful, especially when it comes to a pre-orders phase like this. Please don’t bombard us with requests that put us in a bind such as additions or replacement of items after the pre-order is complete, address changes, anxiety about getting the tracking number right away, and so on.  This wastes a lot of our time and slows down our schedule. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

What we are about to announce is a really important month for us, under a variety of factors. As you’ll be able to see there’s again a noticeable shift of genres from what we’ve put out in previous months, and this proves the variety and multiformity of F.O.A.D.’s taste and a production schedule that is always broad and never fossilized to a standard. But beyond that: there’s a truly incredible release, the 1989 collection of demos and rarities by Sweden’s death metal pioneers CARNAGE, made under the constant supervision of the legend that is Mike Amott. This release is especially close to our hearts because it took us several years to bring it to light and it’s a bit of a symbol of a small-big victory after internal vicissitudes that took turns in our team years ago, those who know us more closely know what we’re talking about. Also, another big news: this month also marks the beginning of a very interesting collaboration. In addition to CARNAGE, the other four releases (all death/grind-themed) we’re about to announce are the result of F.O.A.D. Records and Nuclear Abominations Records joining forces to complete a series of projects that have been in the works for a long time. And we’re off to a great start with 4x true gems of deadly rot: CATASEXUAL URGE MOTIVATION from Japan, ROTTING FLESH from Brazil, DYSENTERY from Germany and NECROLEPSY from Finland. This is just the beginning of this collaboration, every now and then in the times to follow we will do a dedicated N.A.&F.O.A.D. month with additional releases proposed and organized by N.A., and believe us there are really interesting ideas on fire.

But back to us and getting straight to the point.. the 5x sonic atrocities we have made for this month are:  CARNAGE “The day man lost… / Infestation of evil – The 1989 demos” LP, CATASEXUAL URGE MOTIVATION “The encyclopedia of serial murders” Trifold 2LP, ROTTING FLESH “Mesologic Colliquative effects upon…” LP, DYSENTERY “…brings me no tears” LP and  NECROLEPSY “Necrology” LP+CD… Pre-orders start now at www.scareystore.com and the official release date is planned for May 17, so that we can stay on schedule for the next round, which will again be very busy (5 more releases in June!).  As usual we’re offering a limited BUNDLE with diehard editions of all 5, so as to facilitate those who want to buy them in bulk at a discounted price. And as usual we advise you to act fast, especially on the splatter/color versions because they will surely run out at the speed of light!

And now here are more detailed descriptions of each release:

Quoting the band: ” this demo was recorded in 1991 in the house of a friend named Cintia in Colonia Diaz Ordaz in Ecatepec Edo. mex, we recorded it on a homemade recorder in the living room of Cintia’s house; a friend named Jose Angel (nicknamed “el mopet”) was the one who was at the controls of the recorder putting pause in each song, it was all made in one session… it’s worth mentioning that most of the equipment was lent by a gang known as “los águilas” from col. nueva Mèxico in Ecatepec”.
