Having ended 2023 on a high note, with the label’s highest-ever achievement of 51 releases in the books, we are ready to enter the new one with a first batch up to the standard we promised to maintain. As on last month, we are once again focused on 80s hardcore classics – in this case, real milestones! Long story short: 3 bands from Italy and 1 from Sweden.  Two countries that when it comes to hardcore have really made history influencing generations and generations.  The best way to start are two vinyl reissues of INDIGESTI (already announced some time ago), that along with the previous collection “Sguardo realtà 1982-1983” 2xLP complete their incendiary 80s discography. This time we bring you an ultra deluxe reissue of their masterpiece “Osservati dall’inganno” presented as a gatefold LP with booklet and A2 poster and a stunning version of “Live in Lübeck 02.09.1987” gatefold LP enriched with a bonus 7″ and combined with a 64-page photo book collecting all the pictures of the band on tour in the 80s, stagediving massacres during that era, flyers and much more.  Still sticking to milestones, here we have the third F.O.A.D. reissue of RAW POWER‘s “Screams from the gutter”, for the simple reason that a mandatory classic of this level, must be always available in the F.O.A.D. catalog, given the constant demand.  And to close this poker of aces we move on to Sweden, with the vinyl reissue of an outstanding demo dating back to 1984, we are talking about KRUNCH’s “När varje steg är ett snedsteg”, which for this reissue the band has renamed “Vi kåm från timrå, vi!”..: a real explosion of intensity and energy in their unique style.

KRUNCH “Vi kåm från timrå, vi!” LP  (F.O.A.D. 319)

Official reissue of the band’s cult demotape 1984 originally titled “När varje steg är ett snedsteg” (literally translated “When every step is a misstep”)… for the first time on vinyl! 18 songs of intense, energy-driven Swedish hardcore, still sounding fresh and highly entertaining to this day. Formed in 1982 in the small Sundsvall area suburb called Timra, KRUNCH were taking the best elements of early ’80s Scandinavian raw punk and refining them into a powerful and instantly catchy blend all their own, combined with a sense of humor very much related to their area. If you’re wondering how we came up with the idea of reissuing this killer demo, it’s the result of a chat with Rich Walker (Sore Throat, Solstice) about what are the best demotapes from the 80s that are undiscovered classics and have not yet received a due vinyl edition… Completely remastered from the band’s archival tapes. Finally it’s time to unleash the last batch of F.O.A.D. releases for 2023. In the past twelve months we managed to put out 52 RELEASES (44 on vinyl, 3 on CD, 4 on MC and 1 book)!!! This is our all-time highest result, exceeding by far all our expectations. We look forward to the next year as a chance to improve ourselves and set the bar higher, even if it will surely be a very difficult goal, considering the insane pace we kept! As told before, this month was totally dedicated to some hardcore classics. We got into the most dangerous streets of DF, Mexico, to resurrect the complete recordings of SS-20, one of the most iconic and genuine female fronted Latin American bands ever, channeled into three LPs filled with raw, noisy and snotty punk hardcore. Then we got into ultra-fast territories with Atavistic, an often forgotten Britcore gem, with a double LP set which gathers their early recordings, a full throttle blasting galore of British brutality. Last but not least, we released a new version of Siege discography. There is not much to say
about this.. one of the most reverred and important extreme records of all time, the list of bands influenced by them is endless. The definition of “classic”.

Here we are at the last round of pre-orders of 2023! We haven’t yet taken stock and made an accurate calculation but hands down we can already tell you that this was the year with the most releases in the history of the label. After a month entirely dedicated to 80s hardcore punk, with the big surprise that was given by the start of our INDIGESTI reissue plan, as announced – for this November 2023 we are radically changing course. Over the years it has become a bit of a tradition for one of the two end year months to be focused on the most complete aural extermination, with a string of noisecore releases. And that’s what we’re about to do with this new round of pre-orders.

There’s noisecore, but also old school grindcore and powerviolence. After years of work (you can see it from the catalog numbers which are far behind) we are pleased to be able to bring to light a very detailed 2002-2014 discography of the US powerhouse SIDETRACKED, with over 200 songs.

Also from SIDETRACKED, we can finally also announce their split LP with ISOLATION AS CULT, a monster-unit of noise/grind/punk extremism (180 songs on this split!) spawned by the insane joint venture of GTB (Cripple Bastards) and HOD (Toxic Basement Studio). And to stay at unprecedented levels of eardrum annihilation, we also have the brand new 12″ by SISSY SPACEK, a US noise/grind terror squad driven by blast beats at impossible speeds (special lineup with Sulfuric Cautery drummer!). Another dream-come-true on F.O.A.D.! Indigesti, the roots of Italian hardcore, one of the most iconic and original bands out of Italy’s furious punk scene of the ’80s. This double LP anthology is the ultimate, most comprehensive collection of the band’s early recordings compiling their “Sguardo realtà” demo sessions (1982-83), split 7″ with Wretched (1982), studio outtakes + a full bonus LP of mostly never-before-heard recordings (1982-1983) some even featuring members of Wretched and Crash Box. One session ends with Daniele (before joining Wretched) jamming some new riffs that would later end on “Libero di vivere, libero di morire” even if they were originally written for Indigesti..
