FEAR OF GOD “Under the chainsaw – Complete Demos 1987” gatefold LP: pre-orders start now!!

Posted in Fear Of God, Pre Orders, Releases on May 5th, 2014 by foadmaster2022

Another noise monster is close to be unleashed by F.O.A.D.‘s death machineries..: FEAR OF GODUnder the chainsaw – Complete Demos 1987” gatefold LP (blue vinyl / black vinyl / die-hard picture LP) is up for pre-orders!!!

Carrying on F.O.A.D.‘s effort on bringing to light all the existing FEAR OF GOD‘s recordings in the most complete and quality-obsessed way, “Under the chainsaw” comes as the 3rd installment in the series after the s/t 21 track EP 1988 and “As statues fell” 12″.  It consists of what back in 1993 came out as their cult “Konserven” EP (FOG’s official Demo 1987 on vinyl) + a huge bonus of 22 songs taken from alternate (and unreleased) tapes recorded in the same period or even before, when the band had just been formed.

As the singer Erich Keller states “The material on this 12” EP documents the development of our sound. There was never any intention to release any of these recordings with the exception of the demo tape, which was previously released on a 7” EP entitled ‘Konserven’.”  You don’t need many words to explain how this sounds like. Every single frame of FEAR OF GOD is the most extreme and brutal delivery of what has been ever conceived in the clash of sounds between Noisecore and Hardcore. As Erich adds: “Hardcore, grindcore, death metal, noise, fuckshitupism – whatever. We didn’t agree on much, but on the following we were unanimous – that Fear Of God should be the most extreme band in the world, or as we would say, the most “brutal.” Every member of the band was under pressure to deliver his contribution with the utmost intensity. The drums had to go as fast as possible, the guitars should grind out riffs as well as produce a wall of noise, the bass and backing vocals should lay the heavily distorted grounds for the overall basic structure and I did everything I could to make my voice sound non-human.”  And this record shows the band’s first step in a short-lived yet hyper-generative progression that made of them one of the most impactful and radical harbingers of Hardcore pushed to inhuman limits of anger and aural destruction.

As with all the other F.O.A.D. releases, the stuff included on this 12″ has been selected and scrupulously restored/mastered at Toxic Basement studio for the best possible sounding result on vinyl. Housed in a thick reverse board gatefold jacket with special half white half transparent UV-spot print and A2 poster, including extensive liner notes by Erich Keller and rare/unreleased photos and flyers.  And an extra surprise, did you ever expect to hear Fear Of God shredding ND’s “Scum”? It’s all in here.

Available in 3 different versions:

The wait is over! Continuing our mission on bringing back to light quality-focused anthologies of the most classic and influential 80’s HC/Thrash milestones, we are happy to announce that EU’S ARSEAttacca le menti: discografia 1981-1985” Gatefold LP+CD is out now and ready to ship.  As expected, the limited die-hard edition on green/black splatter vinyl has been pulverised in few days of pre-orders and it’s already completely sold out. To make it easier for you to see how this gatefold with 16 page booklet looks like, we are including a photo gallery of each part so you can browse it and see how it looks like. We are also adding a special insert with the complete history of the band (not included in the record), that can be exclusively downloaded here (english/italian)

..if you’re still unfamiliar with these raw and furious Italian HC/Punk ragers, here’s our previous introduction to what this new release is all about:

F.O.A.D.‘s crusade on bringing back to light the most influential and memorable ’80s Hardcore/Thrash classics never stops, those familiar with our previous releases have certainly noticed our passion for early Italian Hardcore, having released bands like RAW POWERNERORGASMOUPSET NOISECRASH BOXPEGGIO PUNXSTINKY RATS and so on.. Now it’s time for the ultimate, most complete and devoted-to-quality EU’S ARSE discography ever made!!  43 songs tracing their complete studio and live history in the furious years of Italian Punk/Hardcore: 1981 to 1985!! Forget the previous bad sounding vinyl-ripped compilations cheaply edited and half-done, this one includes all stuff transfered from 1/4″ analog reels and first generation master tapes, restored and remastered at Toxic Basement studio for the most faithful and intense sound quality. Recordings included here are: “Lo stato ha bisogno di te? Bene fottilo!” 7″ (1982), “Questa è la loro speculazione di morte” Split 7″ w/ IMPACT (1983), Demo 1981 (unreleased), Demo 1983 (unreleased), December 1984 Reh/Demo and a bonus CD filled with rare live recordings 1982-1985!! And to complete the F.O.A.D. treatment that this legendary band deserved, this sonic treasure comes served in a thick reverseboard gatefold including a 16 page 12″x12″ booklet displaying an incredible collection of early day photos, flyers, record inserts, liner notes and lyrics. Now, how to introduce them? Can you imagine a band that had the same wall of distortion, filth and dbeat intensity of DoomWolfpack and E.N.T. but back in 1982/1983? The answer is: EU’S ARSE. Italy had a lot of raging chaos-core mongers back in the first wave of 80s HC (just think of WretchedUnderageDeclino, early Negazione and so on) but those who really brought the discharged formula into the Italian sound and anticipated the crustcore mayhem that exploded all around years later, are hands down EU’S ARSE. They only left 2 ep’s back then, but that was enough to inspire a whole generation of Noise/thrash maniacs. Even RATOS DE PORAO included a cover of their anthem “Servitù militari” on an album!  No matter if you’re more into 80’s old school distorted HC/Punk or latter Crust/Dbeat filthiness, this is the true and most complete EU’S ARSE discography to date – you can’t miss it in your collection!!

(scroll down for the english version)

Essenziale!

==================

Hot from the pressing plant we have a brand new re-edition of one of FOAD‘s most acclaimed releases: NERORGASMODiscografia” CD/DVD!!  It comes in a completely restyled packaging with double booklet inside (30 pages in total!), adding even more photos, flyers and stuff from the band’s archives. One of the most essential discography releases in the whole history of Italian Punk, finally seeing the light after years of hard strains and endless stalemates. NERORGASMO, the blackest and most sincere face of Torino’s Dark/Punk nihilism in the ’80s and early ’90s, the true sound of urban decadence in the city that generated some of the most active and creative Punk/HC acts back in the “fuorious years” of Italian hardcore (think of NEGAZIONE, DECLINO, 5# BRACCIO etc). The CD is a complete collection of their recorded material, 39 songs, including their first legendary EP remastered from a 1st generation tape before it was pressed on vinyl (so you won’t hear any old vinyl crackles), the 1993 album remastered from the studio DAT, 9 completely UNRELEASED studio tracks (1987) and a great selection of live footage 1986-1993. The DVD features their complete set live at Torino’s El Paso in 1993, edited from different angles with image and sound remastered. Comes in a super-deluxe 8 panel digipak with double booklet including rare photos, lyrics and infos. Musically, this was a unique brand of blackened HC/Punk the Italian way crossed with some sinister Dark/Rock influences and the incredibly expressive vocals of Luca Abort (RIP) mixing rage with his sick sarcastic moods. Check the review on goodbadmusic.com:  “Italy’s NERORGASMO (translates as “Black Orgasm” – wonderful!) released one of the darkest and most original sounding records of the 80s. Backwards message, weird sounds and ultra evil, CCM-like riffing, creating a sickly sweet atmosphere of lascivious cross-downturning. Just the way we love it so much!   What is anarchy and subversion if there’s not some good old satanism involved.”

CRUMBSUCKERS “Turn back time: the early years 1983-1985” Double LP + CD out now on FOAD Records!!

Posted in Crumbsuckers, Releases on February 17th, 2014 by foadmaster2022

The bomb has been finally dropped, CRUMBSUCKERSTurn back time: the early years 1983-1985” 2LP+CD ships now, all preorders have been mailed already! Forget the die-hard splattered vinyl version, it was sold out in less than 1 day, that together with few other FOAD releases (remember Nerorgasmo?) makes it a real record time in our releases’ history. And the black vinyl version is going really fast too, so don’t miss the chance, as it looks equally killer with that side D stylishly silkscreened…

And listening to the final result as it came out on LP all what we can add is that this is one of our favourite FOAD releases to date in our label’s lengthy discography.. if you’re looking for crucial, full on energy 80’s New York Hardcore, then look no further!! This is the most exhaustive, high quality retrospective of the pre-”Life of dreams” recordings, 69 songs including all their Demos (the legendary “Crumbsucker cave” demo 1983, “Charge of the light brigade” Demo 1985 and two unreleased tapes 1983-1984) + a bonus CD with 3 great sounding live sets 1984-85 at CBGB‘s… one opening for the Cro-Mags!  This collection shows the band’s natural evolution from basic, no frills early ’80s Hardcore to the mad thrashing assault that made “Life of dreams” and “B.O.M.B.” two unforgettable lessons of true NYHC crossovered with technical and well delivered Metal. All the stuff included here features their former singer David Brady, and displays embryonic versions of all those anthems that were later re-recorded on their debut masterpiece + a bunch of unreleased tracks!  As usual all the stuff here has been mastered from 1st generation tapes with extreme care and passion by the Hand of Doom @ Toxic Basement Studio, a real guarantee of quality and passion!

Three sided double LP (one side silk-screened featuring the original Taggart’s crumb sucker art) housed in a thick gatefold jacket including rare photos, flyers and liner notes + exclusive artwork by Lucas Kalina.. bonus Live at CBGB CD sealed inside of the gatefold in a 5″ cardboard sleeve. For those who are still not familiar with this mandatory band (shame!) make sure to read this great writeup about their classic debut album “Life of dreams“, it’s the best way to get introduced to their awesome power… quote: “this was like the best of Bad Brains and Exodus rolled into one”!!! And IT’S SO TRUE!
