Posted in Fear Of God, Kandarivas, Putrefaction Sets In, Releases, Sore Throat on November 6th, 2022 by foadmaster2022

After two months entirely dedicated to Metal in its variety of forms, going from the death-tinged assault of Expulsion, Crematorium and Crucifixion, to the thrash artillery of Morbid Scream and Death Militia to the most classic metal of Death SS, it’s time to turn the page pushing to the limits of extremity and return to a well-tested FOAD ground, with a month all focused on the most nihilistic and brutal grind/noisecore. For some it’ll be a surprise to see that on this round we have 3 new albums of current times: as previously explained, after all F.O.A.D. is not a reissue-only label, it was simply founded with the formula of releasing whatever we like, so the doors are also open to more recent bands and contemporary recordings. That said, our roster for this month consists of a band already well known to those familiar with our history: SORE THROAT, of which we are honored to introduce the new “Starving wolves stand & fight” 12″ and an expanded reissue of their classic “Never mind the napalm” LP, then we have KANDARIVAS from Japan and their “Blood surgical death” LP, combining elements of the most furious grindcore with experimental/tribal parts inspired by the tradition of their area, then it’s the turn of PUTREFACTION SETS IN and their debut ripper “Repugnant inception of decomposing paroxysm”, a new spearhead in the international gore grind scene – with members of Regurgitate, General Surgery, Lymphatic Phlegm, Expurgo etc and at least but not last another classic unit with a long history of releases on FOAD: FEAR OF GOD and their legendary 21 song EP (1988) for the first time on cassette tape.

So to sum it all up: SORE THROAT “Starving wolves stand & fight” LP and “Never mind the napalm” LP, KANDARIVAS “Blood surgical death” LP , PUTREFACTION SETS IN “Repugnant inception of decomposing paroxysm” LP and FEAR OF GOD “s/t 21 songs EP” Tape are all available for preorder. As usual we strongly recommend to act fast if you don’t want to miss out on the limited colored vinyl versions, they will surely finish quickly. And to top it off, we will have a preview of these new titles at the Record Planet Mega Record Fair at the Brabanthallen in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands on November 12th & 13th, so if you’re planning to visit the fair you can pick them up there, come to visit us at stall nr 128 in the Metal/Punk area.

More in detail about each release:

SORE THROAT “Starving wolves stand & fight” LP (F.O.A.D. 272)

The return of UK’s horrendous noise/hardcore disgrace after more than 3 decades! Back with a bang after a 33-year silence to provide an antidote to the sheeplike compliance of reactionary “revolutionaries” crying “not in my name” while simultaneously doing as their glorious leaders dictate, SORE THROAT has downed tools, picked up their instruments again, and decided to start a fight with every one of the suckers who got sucked in to the narrative. Written and recorded in one afternoon and delivering 21 brand new high velocity caustic hardcore attacks (and 1 long experimental toe tapper), “STARVING WOLVES STAND & FIGHT” is pressed on glorious 12 inches of non-vegan vinyl (Soon to be outlawed by Supreme leader Schwab) and comes with a full colour poster made from a tree. Better to be deafened by noise, than blinded by lies! Watch the trailer HERE

SORE THROAT “Never mind the napalm” Gatefold LP (F.O.A.D. 274)

..their classic third album back on vinyl after more than 3 decades in a restyled expanded version with extra contents! 81 tracks of system smashing, horrendous aural butchery from the undisputed lords of the most deafening cyder-wrecked noisecore punk ever conceived on British soil. Just like the original version, it starts off with the ultra-legendary “Death to capitalist Hardcore” 45 song EP (1988) and continues with 2 sessions recorded in 1989 showing them combine short detonating bursts with some solid HC ragers devoted to the Discharge/early Scandicore formula and also inevitably reminescent of DOOM, with whom ST shared 2 members. This special edition also adds their “Noise annoys” Demo 1988 and rare live tracks from 1987. Comes in a thick gatefold jacket with a 12″x12″ four page insert featuring extensive liner notes by Rich Militia. Watch the trailer HERE

KANDARIVAS “Blood surgical death” LP (F.O.A.D. 271)

“This album was created on the frontlines of the medical systems collapse fighting Covid-19”. After their debut smasher “Grind surgical shrine” and a few demos, singles and split releases, here’s the definitive consecration of this new grind revelation from Kanda, Tokyo! 13 tracks of punishing fierce grindcore combined with Japanese tribal/experimental breakdowns and the use of ancient traditional instruments, creating a unique psychotic sound all of its own. Founding guitarist/singer Tomoki works as a general thoracic surgeon and donated his own blood for the cover art of this album!! FOR THE FIRST TIME ON VINYL, with a special blood-drenched packaging including OBI strip (with a quote written by Ishiya Death Side/Forward), foldout insert and PVC sticker. Recommended if you also like Unholy Grave, Excreteass, Terrorizer and Macabre. Watch the trailer HERE

AVAILABLE IN THE FOLLOWING VERSIONS:

Solid black vinyl ltd to 200 copies

Diehard swirl blood red vinyl ltd to 100 copies

PUTREFACTION SETS IN “Repugnant inception of decomposing paroxysm” LP (F.O.A.D. 273)

Debut full length of this old school pathological gore/grind surgeon squad formed by an international all star line-up of grindcore veterans!
Urban Skytt (Regurgitate, General Surgery, Nasum, Crematory), Anderson Oliveira (Expurgo), Philipe Belisário (Expurgo), Glenn Sykes (Regurgitate, General Surgery, Malformity) and André Luiz (Lymphatic Phlegm, Neuro-Visceral Exhumation, Offal).
if you enjoyed FOAD’s previous foray into forensic gore territories with the Sick Sinus Syndrome LP released some time ago, this one will make your day because it’s equally insane and rotten-to-the-core, enhanced by a pulpy, old fashioned production capturing the true essence and morbosity of the genre.  14 tracks of putrefactive gory grind in pure late 80’s to early 90’s tradition, for fans of early Carcass, Dead Infection and Regurgitate!!Comes with lyrics insert and A2 poster. Solid black vinyl ltd to 250 copies

Diehard putrid deliquescent splatter vinyl limited to 150 copies

FEAR OF GOD “s/t 21 song EP” Tape  (F.O.A.D. on tape #23)

Almost 35 years ago this milestone of sheer brutality was originally released on 7″ by Temple Of Love Records and now it’s back in stock for the first time on cassette tape, limited to 100 pieces. Call it Noisecore, Grind, whatthefuckcore..  this 21 track destroyer still stands as one of the best records ever conceived in the history of extreme music. Peak brutality – still unmatched.   “This 21-track EP is essential in whatever form you stumble across it. The short-lived (1986-1988), much hyped and oft-bootlegged Swiss outfit, as enigmatic and distant as the cold, dissonant bursts imprisoned on this EP, blended early Napalm Death, Swans and something indescribable of their own to create an achingly raw and wordless primal scream” (Terrorizer Mag, UK – “Essential Grindcore albums – Europe”).  Since the original vinyl press was on clear wax, this cassette is clear too, and it comes with a foldout 4 panel jcard printed on both sides with lyrics and original art. Watch the trailer HERE

After the avalanche of FOAD releases with which we used to bomb your turntables monthly, as you can see we’ve been forced to stop for a while and keep September off, this because there have been some important internal changes in the label’s staff and due to this we had to move and reorganize one of our warehouses and sort out tons of extra issues. It is undeniable that it was one of the most complicated and critical phases in the label’s history, but now we’re ready to get back on track stronger than ever.. the right words to introduce you this month are: BACK WITH A CURSE!!  We’re honored to announce our return to vinyl production with 3 wicked deliveries – all of them on the metal side of the FOAD underground excursions. Two bands from Italy vs one from Japan, two very obscure ones vs a highly popular and legendary name. Long story short, our recipe for October consists of:  DEATH SS “The cursed concert – 30th anniversary edition” 2xLP, the ultra-deluxe, definitive expanded version of this classic album by the unmatched lords of horror metal, CREMATORIUM “Chained to torment” LP+CD, one of the best Italian death metal demos from the early ’90s finally getting its deserved spotlight and CRUCIFIXION “Necrolatry / Corpse decapitation” LP, a pioneering, mysterious death metal unit from Japan rescued by your FOAD maniacs and brought back to life in a top quality edition!  So to sum it up: DEATH SS “Cursed concert – 30th anniversary edition” 2xLP, CREMATORIUM “Chained to torment” LP+CD and CRUCIFIXION “Necrolatry / Corpse decapitation” LP are all available for preorders via scareystore.com!

And to make up for the lost month, we already give you a sweet preview..: in November there will be 5x FOAD releases!!

Without the slightest doubt this has been the most messed up and exhausting summer in the history of FOAD Records: from June to now we have put out 14 releases (!!!), resumed traveling with our huge mobile shop/booth attending those festivals where it has always been a sort of tradition for us to go and just to add a little more stress, at the moment we’re also moving one of our two warehouses to a new location! For all these reasons together, it will be very difficult that we’ll be able to deliver new sonic crimes also in September, the chances are very few, but we’re not beat yet, so keep an eye out.  Anyway let’s get back to something closer to now: our 4x August releases are all ready, in perfect timing with what was announced and almost all your pre-orders have already been shipped, expect to receive them soon!

In short: MORBID SCREAM “Bloodstains: 941 Longhorn Drive – The Morbid Scream Demos” 2xLP, EXPULSION “Certain corpses never decay – 1989-1990” 2xLP, DEATH MILITIA “Onslaught of death – Demo & live 1985” LP+CD and OBLIVION “Intention to kill – Demos & rarities 1985” LP+CD are out today on FOAD Records. There aren’t many copies left of the ltd. editions on colored vinyl (Morbid Scream and Death Militia being the best sellers) so we strongly suggest you to act fast if you haven’t yet secured them to your collection.

More in detail on each of them:

MORBID SCREAM “Bloodstains: 941 Longhorn Drive – The Morbid Scream Demos” 2xLP  (F.O.A.D. 235)

One of the many hidden gems from the boundless underground pit of obscure recordings and rare demos to be discovered and appreciated. Even if for a long time they didn’t get the deserved recognition, MORBID SCREAM left an important mark in the 80’s American Thrash scene, so much that they have been tributed by the mighty ABSU, that covered “The Coming of War” and “Morbid Scream” on “The Sun of Tiphareth” and “The Third Storm of Cythraul” albums respectively. Sourced and mastered from the band’s 1st generation tapes. Includes a massive 48 PAGE BOOKLET with liner notes, interviews, loads of band photos, flyers, original art and more!!  Watch the trailer HERE

EXPULSION “Certain corpses never decay – Complete recordings 1989-1990” 2xLP (F.O.A.D. 215)

Early Swedish Death Metal malignity at its finest! Expulsion started in November 1988 with Calle Fransson on drums, Anders Holmberg on bass and Stefan Lagergren on guitars. Actually the band was formed out of the ashes of a band called River’s Edge, that consisted of the three Expulsion members, Magnus Kranz on guitar and Johan Edlund (TIAMAT) on vocals. After the “Mind the Edge” demo the band felt apart. In April 1989, Expulsion released their first demo called “Cerebral Cessation”. November that year they recorded their second demo “Veiled in the mists of mystery”. The previously unreleased track “Certain corpses never decay” was released on the underground compilation tape “Hymns of the  Dead vol.2”. In 1990 Expulsion entered Sunlight Studios (Entombed Dismember, Tiamat etc.), to record two tracks produced by Tomas Skogsberg. After these recordings Expulsion broke up (and reformed with two new members 2 years later). Expulsion guitar player Stefan and bassist Anders both also played in Treblinka / Tiamat. They recorded and played (and Stefan Lagergren wrote) all the Treblinka demos/EP and the TIAMAT debut album “Sumerian Cry” (1990). This collection includes all the above mentioned demos, the rare comp. track and the Sunlight Studio session. All these recordings are being released for the first time on vinyl, completely restored and remastered. Coverart by Eric Danielsson (WATAIN). Gatefold jacket with photos, scans of the original tapes, an exclusive interview + large poster!  A must have for the diehard maniacs of pioneering Swedish Death Metal, highly recommended if you also like Treblinka/early Tiamat, Morbid, Nihilist and Grotesque. DEATH MILITIA “Onslaught of death – Demo & live 1985” LP+CD (F.O.A.D. 269)

Raw speed thrashin’ assault from Canada’s metal hell of 1985!! Their rare “Onslaught of death” debut demo circulated in a handful of copies now for the first time on vinyl enriched by two complete live sets recorded in Toronto, 1985… 28 tracks including a Discharge cover showing their radical hardcore influences! Quoting Chris Bailey (Infernal Majesty):  “What I remember about seeing Death Militia was a lot of broken glass and a lot of blood. And I’ll never forget the cow skull they had on stage with them”.
Sourced from the band’s tapes and specially mastered for vinyl for the most destructive sonic impact. Intense, abrasive thrash from one of the earliest bands from the insane mid 80’s Toronto scene that also spawned legends such as Razor, Sacrifice, Slaughter, Infernal Majesty and many more! LP coming with a bonus live CD and 16 page booklet full of photos, flyers, excerpts from old fanzines and more.. Watch the trailer HERE

– DEMO #1 “Oblivion”
– DEMO #2 “Intention to kill”
plus a bonus CD filled with rare and unreleased early tunes and a complete live set at CBGB’s, 1985 in which they shared the stage with Damage and NYC Mayhem!
Intense gut wrenching speed/thrash backed by a solid Slayer influence (“Show no mercy” era) and the genuine hardcore tinged vibe of most East Coast’s thrash bands of that time, as a matter of fact their singer Dave was also in Social Decay and later in Lethal Aggression.    Back then they were self-describing their sound as “Power speed metal” quoting as main influences Rave, Cro-Mags, Slayer, Anthrax and Metallica. Includes 16 page full colored booklet with loads of early photos, flyers and excerpts from fanzines from that era! Watch the trailer HERE

Were you hoping that we would go on vacation in August avoiding to torment you with yet another dose of FOAD thrashing bombarments? No way! And if in July we attacked you with a plethora of incendiary hardcore bombs – to counterbalance things in pure FOAD style, now it’s time to shoot some obscure ’80s metal gems. Two of the releases we are about to announce have been pending for more than a year due to a dispute with a local pressing plant that kept delaying them without giving us a delivery date, until we decided to take them out of production and send them to be pressed elsewhere. This is one of the main reasons that caused a domino-effect that has overloaded and congested us in the last few months.. but in the end we’re getting used to it and so why slow down this mad race.. let’s thrash!

So our recipe for August is all centered on ’80s speed/thrash with two US bands + one from Canada, and there’s also a seminal Scandinavian black/death horde finally getting the deserved vinyl treatment. We’re talking of Texas’ thrashers MORBID SCREAM and their complete discography entitled “Bloodstains: 941 Longhorn Drive – The Morbid Scream Demos” 2xLPEXPULSION from Sweden with an exhaustive retrospective of their early works:  “Certain corpses never decay – Complete recordings 1989-1990”, Canada’s speed thrashing maniacs DEATH MILITIA with “Onslaught of death – Demo & live 1985” LP+CD (their rare debut demo spiced up by plenty of bonus stuff from the same year) and New Jersey’s OBLIVION with a collection of all their amazing 1985 recordings called “Intention to kill – Demos & rarities 1985” LP+CD, highly energetic thrash/speed metal with a solid hardcore backbone. All of these are available for preorder via www.scareystore.com and will be premiered at Party San Open Air where you will find the massive FOAD booth, as always. We will start to ship them from August 22nd.  As usual we recommend you to act fast if you want to catch the diehard colored vinyl versions, they’re very limited and won’t last for long!

More in detail about each release:

IGNORANTES “Parece que tuvimos demasiados hijitos” LP (F.O.A.D. 260)

Raw, uncompromised nihilism from Chile’s premier fuzzed out hardcore punks! After multiple cassette only releases and 2 x 7″s here’s their first time on 12″… 13 tracks of snotty angry punk blending the simplistic in-your-face aggression of typical Latino-American taste with a noisy distorted approach recalling 80’s Japanese and British classics (Gai, Confuse, Chaos UK, Disorder). IGNORANTES stands above as one of the current gems of punk, their sound and attitude are totally spontaneous and out of the guts, without any ambition or intention. Quoting the singer Gabriel: “In the beginning we didn’t even try to go out and play. The idea was just to record once and that was it. Then we enjoyed the process of recording six or eight songs and that’s how it all started.” LP with large 6-panel foldout insert and lyric sheet.  Watch the trailer HERE

RAW POWER “Mine to kill” Gatefold 2xLP (F.O.A.D. 081)

Official reissue of RP’s iconic 4th album from 1989 adding as bonus LP the incredible lost&found 1st studio take (12 TRACKS!) recorded in Italy still with Helder on drums, available for the first time on vinyl! Another uppercut in the jaws showing RP at the top of the game crossovering their manic riff-oriented Hardcore with the most intense and raging Thrash assault. Together with the incredible masterpiece “Screams from the gutter” this is hands down the fastest and tightest delivery in the band’s discography of the first decade. As for all their previous releases on F.O.A.D., this has been scrupulously remastered from the 1st generation master at Toxic Basement studio, taking the original dynamics and sonic impact to the most powerful and energetic stage. As explained by the band: RAW POWER began the recording of “Mine to kill” in Italy, at Umbi Studio, and when it came to an end there were discussions about the final product. The decision to re-record the album in England with a different producer saw Helder leave, the one most satisfied with the work they had just ended, and having already had a brief live experience with the other boys, Fabiano Bianco (Bloody Riot / Raff) replaced him on drums. The fourth album came out and the previous version was trashed. The bonus LP added to this version was what would have been “Mine to kill” at the beginning, feeling like the first real attempt to change the style and understanding even more how the personalities within Raw Power differed between them, something that has always characterized the band from any other reality”. Of those 12 tracks, 4 are completely unreleased as they haven’t been re-recorded on the final version of the album, and they simply kill! Raw, aggressive and dizzyingly precise Hardcore from Italy’s most iconic band of the unforgettable “furious years“! Comes in a thick gatefold sleeve with insert including rare photos and flyers of that time. Watch the trailer HERE

RATOS DE PORÃO “Necropolítica” Gatefold LP (F.O.A.D. 275)

The return of Brazil’s undisputed Thrash-Punk masters! 8 years after the acclaimed “Seculo sinistro“, RxDxPx are back with another slab of relentless, intense and socially engaged Crossover Thrash in their unmistakeable style, this time with a stronger-than-ever political message reflecting their absolute contempt against the authoritarian government that has plagued Brazil in recent years. Musically, with a career spanning through 5 decades, RATOS DE PORAO show no sign of weakening and reconfirm themselves as the absolute champions of South American Hardcore! 10 songs full of Metal and Punk mayhem keeping it fresh and dynamic at the same time, led by Jao’s manic riffing and Gordo’s massive, vitriolic shouts of rage. With no doubts the world’s most famous basement rats have nailed it another time with a devastating album, still sounding exciting and relevant, which is an amazing achievement in Punk that most other bands of that age can’t claim! Housed in a full glossy gatefold jacket with 12″x12″ booklet.  Watch the trailer HERE
