SORE THROAT “Unhindered by talent” gatefold LP and SORE THROAT “Death to capitalist Halmshaw” gatefold 2xLP (2nd pressing) out NOW!!
The wait is over! Two horrendous nuclear arsenals have just been uncovered and are all set to annihilate your auditory system. SORE THROAT “Unhindered by talent” gatefold LP + poster and SORE THROAT “Death to capitalist Halmshaw” gatefold 2xLP + poster (2nd pressing) are out now, and we are currently shipping all preorders. There aren’t many copies left of the die-hard splatter vinyl editions, so act short+fast+loud if you want to catch one! As previously announced, this is FOAD‘s second installment in re-issuing ST’s complete discography, this time it’s the turn for their classic debut full length “Unhindered by talent” (1988) dusted off in a beautiful gatefold LP edition with bonus poster and extensive liner notes by Rich Militia. And there’s more, due to the high demand, we also decided to deliver you a new pressing of the previous “Death to capitalist Halmshaw” double gatefold LP with a different color sleeve and a new limited splatter version. Just like Switzerland’s noise masters FEAR OF GOD (of which we are gradually re-issuing the entire discography too), this is hands down one of our favourite bands so we have really concentrated all our efforts to provide the best sounding vinyl result and a great looking packaging, as these bands have pioneered the true spirit of extremity in whatever is fast and blasting in Metal/Punk, so they deserve all our respect and dedication.
More in detail about each release:
SORE THROAT “Unhindered by talent” gatefold LP (F.O.A.D. 079)
Housed in a thick reverseboard gatefold sleeve including lyrics and detailed liner notes by Rich Militia, enriched by a 2 sided A2 poster. Official reissue of one of the most influential and distinctive Grind/Punk/Noisecore albums of the late ’80s Britcore scene, and of all times too. 52 songs of cider-intoxicated aural butchery backed by a caustic sense of humor and savagely provocative lyrics attacking the HC scene of their time. To quote some reviews of when this came out: “SORE THROAT are the latest hell spawn of the ultracore thrash ”gurgling-gravel-in-a-sound-avalanche” school of thought”. “SORE THROAT are a music fan’s worst nightmare, 52 tracks that threaten to defy the very laws of nature, the ST sound is a thick, ugly mother that catches you like the swiftest blow to the stomach and leaves you feeling you’ve just gone 15 rounds with a runaway steamroller.”
Originally released in 1988 after a few successful demos and the hyper-legendary “Death to capitalist Hardcore” 45 song EP, “Unhindered by talent” was the groundbreaking debut full length of UK’s most extreme Noise unit, alternating ultra-short detonating noise bursts to some solid 2-riffs/2-phrases HC/Punk anthems devoted to the Discharge/early Scandicore formula and also inevitably reminiscent of DOOM, with whom ST shared 2 members. Mastered from the best sounding source in existence for the fiercest possible sonic devastation on vinyl…“Unhindered by talent but we don’t give a fuck!”
Available in two different versions:
DIE-HARD radioactive x-ray effect splatter vinyl limited to 100 copies
Solid black vinyl limited to 400 copies
============================
SORE THROAT “Death to capitalist Halmshaw” gatefold 2xLP (F.O.A.D. 061) 2nd pressing
2nd edition with green and black print on the gatefold sleeve and poster (instead of blue and black like the 1st). Double LP, 129 song monstrosity collecting all ST’s demos, their cult “Death to capitalist Hardcore” debut EP and an endless parade of rarities, comp. tracks and live recordings from 1987 to 1990. Old reviews used to describe Uk’s SORE THROAT as “Beyond almost anything you’ve ever heard… Even Extreme Noise Terror are scared of them… as palatable as cabbage boiled in fish urine“. Over 2 decades are gone but these pioneers of the most horrific alcohol-wrecked Noisecore/Grind ever conceived on the British soil still sound as the most nihilist and unsurpassed sonic aberration one can think of. And to be able to offer their noise in the most pristine form, closer to its primordial authenticity all what you will experience on this horrendous double platter has been scrupulously acquired from the original reels and tapes and mastered for vinyl with the maniacal attention of the widely-acclaimed Toxic Basement Studio, an absolute guarantee of passion and dedication for all what comes from the golden days of analog Hardcore/Thrash and Grind.
Comes in a thick gatefold sleeve printed on raw, uncoated reverse-board cardboard and includes a 2-sided A2 posters with an extensive collection of rare photos, flyers, zine excerpts and reviews. “Death to capitalist Halmshaw” was previously released on a limited edition CD by China’s Area Death Prod., this is the official re-issue on vinyl with 16 extra songs and a completely different/extended layout. Highly recommended to all enthusiasts of the early Grind/Noisecore era and the most extreme Britcore bands that have shaped and developed the genre. “Out of tune guitars with broken strings, unintelligible growls and smashed drum sticks“!!
Available in two different versions:
DIE-HARD green on white splattered vinyl, limited to 100 copies
Solid black vinyl limited to 300 copies
