This is how and why the band chose such a moniker to justify their in your face, superfast thrash attack:

“The idea behind the name ‘Wehrmacht’ when it was chosen for the band in 1985 was simply inspired by vintage ‘Weird War’ comic books from DC, a Time Life book series on WW II and the name in translation meaning ‘Powerful Army’ or ‘War Machine..Thrash, Hardcore Punk, Death & Speed Metal in the mid 80s for us was all about being rebellious with the music itself yet being crazy party animals hell bent on fun at the same time, the ‘Wehrmacht’ moniker just so happened to fit that vibe and attitude..Kind of parallel to how bikers of many ethnic races globally have always fancied the German WW II soldier helmet since the ’60s for it’s trademark outlaw look”Philip ‘Tito’ Matos / Wehrmacht
